I am in the process of writing an article for my website and the IBRO journal on Del Fontaine, the canadian boxer was found guilty of murder and hung at Wandsworth prison in 1935.
I have a couple of discrepancies on the record i have and wondered if anyone can help.
04/02/1930 - Pete Cerkan. I have this as a win for Fontaine, my record comes from a canadian historian, Boxrec has a draw, input by Ric
16/12/1930 - Johnny Wagner, I have 9th round, Boxrec has 8th, input by Ric
Also I have an article written by Bob Lonkhurst saying that Fontaine fought Tommy Farr in August or September 1934 over 12 rounds at Swansea, but can't see any other trace of this fight, can anyone help?
Thanks for your time
Kevin

Kevin,
My source likely was the EVERETT DAILY HERALD newspaper.
As I have said before, I sent all my material from 1925-1931 to Mike DeLisa.
Did Mike send this to you?
If so, please check that material.
Sometimes I would find only one or two bouts on a newspaper page. If so, rather than print out the page, I would just jot down notes.
So, if it's not in the EDH material, I could go check other papers for you.

Kevin, I live in Edmonds, Washington.
Edmonds is between Seattle and Everett.
Cerkan came from Cle Elum, Washington, not that far from Everett/Seattle. (So one would hope local newspapers would get the results of his bouts accurate.)
Yesterday I went to the Everett Public Library and reviewed microfilm of THE EVERETT DAILY HERALD newspaper.
Today I went to the Seattle Public Library and researched THE SEATTLE DAILY TIMES newspaper microfilm.
Both papers affirm what I originally entered into the BoxRec database:
1) Draw with Cerkan
2) KO-8 over Wagner.

Edit: Actually, I meant to say Pe Ell, Washington, not Cle Elum.
