I see on his record that he beat Gamboa, the Cuban who won the Gold at 112lbs in Athens??. Is this the same guy. Gamboa and Bartelemi were the two best Cubans I saw in Athens. They were unbelievable and I actually thought Gamboa looked more impressive. So if Bartelemi did beat him, my god that's impressive. I wonder did Gamboa move to 112lbs to avoid Bartelemi

Bartelemi and Gamboa have fought many times. But I doubt Gamboa went up to avoid Bartelemi, he's now up at 57 because he couldn't make 51 and there's no point in fighting at 54 because there he will lose to Rigondeaux.

locoxelbox, up two weights. Good and all as he is, I think the Feathers are out of his reach. I thought he was devestating in Athens and 54kg would have been the better option even if Rigondeaux is there

Attention Venceremos:

Your amateur records site is an excellent piece of research. Clearly you are something of an amateur boxing fan, are you a native of Cuba?

Really, I'm not Cuban, but I love to research about amateur boxing.

I live in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Didn't Lennox Lewis win his world juniors title there? Keep up the good work on the site squire. :TU:
