Martin Lindsay's frustration with the direction of his career would appear to be over after the “Mac Man's” promoter Frank Maloney set out a clear plan of action for the Belfast native's immediate future at the press conference to announce his fight with John Simpson.
Maloney yesterday outlined a clear set of criteria for the British featherweight champion who he believes can “be fighting for a world title by the end of 2011”, a deal which of course requires Lindsay to overcome the first hurdle of Scotland's John Simpson next Wednesday night.

Good news that he'll be stepping up and having a big 2011, Fearherweight is a tough division so it will be difficult
Re: Martin Lindsay will fight for a world title in 2011
Let's hope it materialises. Lindsay has had a stop-start career and needs to be fighting more regularly. If Lindsay gets through John Simpson, do you have any idea what World titleist you and Martin will be chasing, Frank?

Any fights planned to be taking place in Dublin in the future?
Why is the Simpson fight on a Wednesday?
Impossible for alot of people to head up to Belfast in the middle of the week! Surely more tickets would be sold if the fight was on at the weekend.

I wouldnt be looking further ahead than wed night. I'd say its a 50/50 fight and will be cheering on simpson to do the business.
John fights best away from home and will be well up for it which I'm sure Mr Nelson will be able to confirm. If anyone in Britain deserves a lonsdale outright its John Simpson!

Ah yeah you could say that again! No easy route to world title that's for sure: JM Lopez WBO, Gamboa IBF, Hasewaga WBC and 44-0 Chris John is the WBA champ!

Personally haven't seen much of Lindsay but Simpson ain't no walkover.
Takes a good man to beat Simpson and I'd imagine he will be flying just now as his fight has fell in with nice timing for him to share a camp with his stablemate burns.
Hope Simpson does the business on Wednesday!!
