Ruiz v Brewster to be added to Byrd/Toney bill

Rumour has it that a Ruiz v Brewster fight will be added to the Don King Heavyweight PPV in August which includes Byrd v Toney and Rahman v Barrett.
It sounds like a tasty line-up

Byrd is scheduled to fight Lyakhovich in New York on July 23rd as well as Rahman-Barrett. And if tHe Trashtalking Motherfucker gets another Titleshot after a positive drug test i would quit this sport, seriously. that would be the biggest shame of this sport. every credbility would be lost.

Well I have heard they are to push the bill back to August and turn it into a triple-header. It would be a good looking bill and with Ruiz in another fight I actually wouldn't mind seeing him in

It was to heal the damaged muscle tissue though and he would of been less fat if it helped.

personally i dont belive toney was juicing but there you go.

I don't think so either, but even if he did - he served his punishment (albeit a damn light one). I would be looking forward to it.

Can Toney fight for the WBA title in the near future, surely King would rather Toney releive Ruiz again and try for a Toney vs Byrd unification fight.

Bubi - did you quit the sport when Frans Botha had his fight with Moorer and then with Lewis, following a positive drugs test.

I dont think can fight for the WBA title the next two years.

I and also think its a disgrace if Toney can box again after such a small sentence even if its "from surgery".

It would be the IBF title....

But this would be the biggest scandal in Sports actually. All fans should boycott this fight.

interesting to hear all this condemnation of toney, what about Vitali who was proved to have been juicing pre olympics?

even if it wasnt to his knowledge.

seems to me you guys are being somewhat harsh on James here.

it shouldnt be one rule for one and another for another .

if you deem anyone to have failed a test a juicer and think they shouldnt get a "shot" excuse the pun, then Vitali shouldnt even be gettnig in the ring now then.

which is blatently over the top in my view.

Frans Botha fought for the very title he won (and tested positive before) in Michael Moorer's first defense. That was as big a scandal as this one.

I think Bothas penalty was longer. But you are right, it was a scandal, too. But I can´t imagine that Botha got another title fight just after 2 weeks........

in every sports you are banned minimum a half year or year, especially in related sports like olympic wrestling, weightlifting etc.

he should get another chance but only after making some other fights.

i know this KO but by the same token TOney has been stripped and banned for 3 months, 2 years from a title shot with that organisation so has also paid his dues, even when there is an element of eveidence that points tot he fact he might not have been juicing...thats my point....if you see what i mean.

it would only be fair if any organisation would ban him for a year or two for a title fight. that doesn´t help boxing nowadays

the ban the WBA gave him should be given him by any other Boxing Organisation. That would be fair. First title fight in 2 years.

I agree completely, also people have almost forgotton that Tyson failed a drugs test (albeit for hash) - he was welcomed back from that scandal with open arms.

Somehow, I think the reason people are down on Toney more is because they don't like him and they didn't like the thought of him being champ.

I have 3 reasons why these fights won´t happen:

1. W.Klitscho is sueing the IBF to be the mandatory challenger. http://www.boxingtalk.net/pages/free3769.htm

2. Ruiz has ti fight, after the NC-decision of the WBA, the #1 next, to 99% Nicolai Valuev

3. Brewster has to fight his mandatory next, too, hopefully Luan Krasniqi. Golota was a free title defense.

You have to realise you are dealing with Don King here

Without judging Toney (Because i coudn't care less whether he was guilty or not) i doubt any organisation is going to ban him for a sizeable amount of time or ostracise Don King from contesting there belts, at the end of the day money talks and that's all the alphabet boys care about.
