i dont know about big pay days from this fight or any of his last few fights?

i mean i doubt that many if anyone from this site would have payed to watch this or any of the last few fights? last time i went to the pub to watch the jerez fight there were 5 people there including me and the mrs. if people dont watch his fights and he fights in small venues surely his sponsors must be loosing interest too? i just dont understand how he can be making much more than a reasonable living ?

compared to say a green fight where you can barely get into the pub let alone see the tv and the venues are almost always packed and everybody in oz at least is keen to watch the sports news highlights if nothing else.

The options:

- retire: probably the best option as he has been diminished and can take the money and run.

- rematch wood: probably his last shot at PPV and being avaricious may take a chance but another defeat will see him lose face and be on the scrapheap.

- rematch geale: not bloody likely as Daniel will take the much more vulnerable Mundine apart and all the loose glove tapes to gain time and threatening judges this time will not save him.

- keep fighting imports: no one will turn up or PPV, so little chance.

If he is to remain in this sport he must re-match Garth even if its a 70/30 split Garths way. I wouldnt be surprised if he retired. Anthony has relied on his hand speed to score points. His elusive skills and reflexes have kept him out of major trouble since the Ottke KO, even then it was more lack of conditioning that bought him undone. At 35 those reflexes have started to slow. I watched the Jerez fight and I remember thinking if Jerez had genuine KO power then it could have been a shock loss. I think he is at least 4 years past his prime. The KO loss to Garth will play on his mind no matter who he fights and as history tells us once a genuine KO loss is suffered it usually leads to another, especially when age is a factor. If your greatest assetts are hand speed and genuine elusive skills then age will find you out, a granite chin will keep you in the game a little longer but this is not the case with Anthony.
