marcos maidana - who does he fight next????
marcos maidana - who does he fight next????
though he fought a very good fight vs khan and certainly deserves a rematch.
i think he should fight 1 of these 3 guys next
1. a rematch with khan - see my other post
2. a rematch with ortiz - HBO would ok this no problem
now a fight i think would be very interesting and i dont think it would go the distance....
3. maidana vs prescott - who lands the big shot first lol

Whilst i am certain hed want a rematch with khan , i cant see khan hanging about for him , as its still a risky fight for khan , Maidana would absolutely destroy prescott i reckon so he could go for that on an undercard of a bigger fight , but i believe he should go in for a descent opponent again , as hes certainly lost no stock in his loss to khan , he could be one win away from another title crack , but if he steps back to too much of an easier opponent he could be overtakenboxerbob wrote:though he fought a very good fight vs khan and certainly deserves a rematch.

yeah definitely.SweetLikeSugar wrote:The loser of Bradley/Alexander.
Ortiz looks a broken fighter, no way he should be put back in there with Maidana.
Maidana vs the loser of Bradley/Alexander puts the winner straight into contention to fight the winner of Khan/other fight. Would be perfect.

Hadn't considered Maidana/Prescott. Could see that playing out like a miniature Pavlik/Miranda. Entertaining at the very least.
Bit of a step down for Maidana though,

Rematch with Kotelnik another option.

How about a battle of the Argies with Mattysye or whatever hes called? It would be a backburner, bragging rights, if HBO want to show the fans exciting fights they'll shell out for it. However in reality maybe not much money and allot of risk/hurt for both men

Kotelnik or Ortiz would pique my attention.

I think the important thing for him to do no matter what is to fight on the same card as Khan next time out to keep people talking about them both and build the rematch or just keep his name up there

Yeah thats a fight i reckon should happen,if not on hbo then both of them fighting back in argentina in front of a big crowd, sort of like a benn vs eubank fight.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:How about a battle of the Argies with Mattysye or whatever hes called? I would reckon, that Maidana's next fight should be a rematch with Victor Ortiz.
You have to remember, that the previous scrap was only stopped due to a cut to Ortiz (that i didnt actually think was that bad) Although, at the time, Maidana was in the ascendency in a big way.
I think it would be another rip-snorter of a fight, and I for one would happily sit watching, just waiting to see which of them hits the canvas next.
I certainly dont believe that a rematch with Khan is something that could be considered. I honestly believe, that if it were to happen, then khan would be a much cuter fighter, knowing what is coming his way, and would simply outbox, outfox, and out power the little argentinian for 12 rounds to take an overwhelming points decision.

Well it wasnt just a cut, ortiz signalled to the doctor that he didnt want to continue!Ortiz doesnt have the drive required to be a truely top level fighter i dont think.stuart2609 wrote:I would reckon, that Maidana's next fight should be a rematch with Victor Ortiz.
