Carl Froch for a MASSIVE fight within 18 months if DeGay stays active and improves at his current pace, and Froch is in a position to take this fight, and can be convinced to show his face on mainstream PPV to earn some good money. Froch will be the likable one of the two with the public, and will surely fancy it if DeGay can be maneuvered up there quickly. All depends on how the Super 6 pans out of corse. And yes, I will call him DeGay until he stops that stupid gay celebration he does.

Excellent shout, a well respected name a world level gatekeeper and in my opinion is less of a risk than Bika even though he's a big puncher he is unbelievably crude and you can see his shots coming from a mile off so it would be a cracking fight for him

I think everyone is getting a bit carried away. He's still a nine fight novice with very little experience in terms of rounds fought - albeit a very talented novice. My picks would be Groves, Mcguire, Paul David, Dodson or even Anderson. Let him get more rounds/into double digits first. Then push for European honours. Also, it depends if he wants that lovely Lonsdale belt for keepers. :TU:

Lot of big names being thrown around at this point, many of whom are world class or bordering it. People have a right to get excited, but he should take gradual steps on the way to a world title.

i think degale could have an anderson that's given the grace of notice to send a message to ugly boy :DD

i think quigley is very marketable, as he is an ambidextious fighter who is skillfull & wont struggle against the southpaw stance.it could be clever matchmaking against smith who aint good v lefty's quig may give a better contest.

Two defences. One against Groves and then Anderson. Then move up to European level :TU:

Anderson would be a massive step back after what Groves done to him? If I was Warren I'd take Groves in a heartbeat but I can see DeGale v David his next fight.

I'd like to see him win the Lonsdale belt outright before moving on. Maybe do what Ryan Rhodes did and fight win it quickly before moving on. Though he's looked sensational he's still only had 9 fights and doesn't have many rounds under his belt. The only problem is aside from Magee & Groves there isn't anyone who's not a huge step backwards.

& who was rhodes fighting then  peter waudby, no disrespect but a massive underdog.

quigley at the echo another draw for the scouser's to get behind against the scousernator :DD styles make fight's  & that's not me fancying tq's chances neither

I'd personally like him to fight groves now then keep moving up but not rushing into a world title fight. There's plenty of time for that. Groves is the mandatory for the British belt so hopefully they sort it for early next year

Groves is the mandatory, so it will be interesting to see who ducks who.

I doubt each side will agree terms, so will probably end up with purse bids, then it's down to signing on the dotted line.

I agree mate. I think the Groves fight could be bigger in the second half of 2011. Magee would be good. I like your suggestion of Tony Quigley and i don't see him beating Degale but it would still be a decent fight. Remember he's had 9 fights so i'd like to see him win the British title outright then Commonwealth & European titles the old fashioned way in 2011 and move towards a World title fight in 2012 if all works out.

*3. He's got talent and will probably go along way but there is plenty of time. Reckon a future Degale v Froch in over 2 years could be huge, two big egos could well hype the fight too.

madatories never work when you have a big earner like Degale cause they have to pay the challager a high %... dont they ?

thats why high profile fighters tend to 'duck' out of these fights cause they always go to purse bids

Anderson, Magee (if he fails to beat/fight Sartison) and then Groves to keep the Lonsdale, as well as the EBU won off Magee and the Commonwealth that Groves will hold. This will need Groves to take a couple of fights to make the Degale clash worthwhile - Groves v Smith would be good for both and if Groves comes through that someone like Dodson would be a good test and would set up Degale - Groves nicely for September.

Magee has given up the European title.

David, then Groves

Talk of Edison Miranda and Sakio Bika is ridiculous, he has won the British title not a world strap. Let's not get carried away.

I personally think Groves will beat DeGale....I've said that since the start and am sticking with it :TU:

My first aim would be win the Lonsdale Belt outright with three defences and looking at the domestic level division there are some options there I reckon Tony Dodson could provide some tough competition for James DeGale and would be willing to try and derail the DeGale Dream.

Win the Lonsdale sounds great. He could join an elite club.

Paul David, IMO.

He was down to fight Smigga before the DG fight came about wasn't he?

I would go for GG vs DG at the end of 2011 if they both remain unscathed. Obviously, I'd love it to happen before but you know what rival promoter's are like.

I reckon the Groves fight will happen sooner rather than later, it will be a realtively safe defense for degale while still raising interest...i'd like to see degale get in the ring with the magee, but i think magee already has things in the pipe line for 2011

Jesus some brave matchmakers on here. Bika at this sage would be crazy talk.

Just because he's beaten Smith doesn't mean he needs to step up a level every fight. Couple of defences of the British title next should be fine before stepping up to Euro.
