Tua's next fight.

Post by Craig14 »

David Tua is fighting Demetrice King (15-19-0) on march 19th in Manakau, South Auckland.
I can't believe there is no-one better available. How much can they charge for tickets for this one?

To be fair Tua is cutting loose from his MTV deal and bouncing back from a shoulder injury so no real top ranked fighter should have been expected. this fight enables him to get back in the ring test his shoulder out and get confidence back in it get rid of MTV and the chance to fight some top names mid 2011. King is a tough brawler and should make it entertaining at least.

King will get decked in double quick time and Maori TV will get their 50 seconds worth. No hiding the fact that King is an absolute bum by Tua's standards but that's what you get when a TV station pays peanuts for NZ's second most googled name. August 2011: watch this space.....

Could be worse opponents, especially considering his performance on his last outing.

Yep, not a bad opponent. Been stopped twice in his whole 34 fight heavy weight pro career.

King is much better than his record suggests and could actually make it a fight for a while.

I think that is still the only loss on Tupou's record. King may be a surprise packet.

I was hoping that Tua would be fighting for a world title next year. Just think that fighting boxers like King are not going to get him a shot (Although Audley Harrison did get one after beating Micheal Sprott.) I mean 19 losses in 34 fights hardly world class.

Emile "King Kong" Czaja was a Sydney based thirty stone plus pro-wrestler who was killed in a car crash in Singapore in 1970.

He was only a problem if he fell on you.

I'm looking forward to his next fight with King.

But what of the match making? If King's record could get approved to finish his TV deal, why would they not grab a better record guy with less chance to get beat? Seems to me they don't know what they are doing with him. He could lose everything at the hands of King. John Poore, Eugene Hill, some Villi from Georgia. Anybody besides King. But I will be watching.
