I'm a fan of Bomber but you're doing McCory and Nelson a discredit there. There is a chance Bellew could get to world level but he's yet to prove he's on the same level as the aforementioned fighters yet. I'm sure Tony would admit as much. Nelson could be horrible to watch but at the end of the day he beat some true world class fighters and was competitive with some others.

McCrory vs Tee Jay was a very close fight. Well, closer than Tee Jays fight with Evander Holyfield anyway! :box:

I think we'd all love to see a rematch, wouldn't we?

My first thought was that the ref was panicked into stopping it, feeling that Ovill could get seriously hurt. But the stoppage looked out of order. That being the case, I wonder whether Ovill's people could lodge an appeal with the Commonwealth Council for an immediate rematch?

A rematch would be good I believe that the reason why McKenzie didn't jump in straight after each knock down was because of experience of being hurt when going for the finish in previous fights. I still can't believe the fight was stopped.

Can he ko him ???? wrote:Surely china chin can last 2011 unbeaten, excellent tree impression in the 2nd TIMBER !!!!
Yeah fantastic but did he ko me??? Lol you make me laugh :OhYes:

As for cards, had the 8th finished I would have been ahead as that was a 10-8 round for me...

Once again thanks for the support ;-)

Dont worry about it tony!Whilst that was a brtual knockdown you got up from it and continued without looking on wobbly legs!I first thought when i saw it that you were outcold! The fella can certainly punch and he looked absolutely huge for a light-heavy!He was carrying a hell of alot of muscle. You won the fight at the end of the day so thats what matters! :)

Are you referring to Johnny Nelson, who was unbeaten in the last 10 years of his career, including 6 years as World Champion ?

Are you having a laugh?? Not many HW would have got up from that right in the second round FFS. Tony looked out going down yet got up and continued fighting... Not only that HE went looking for Ovill not the other way around. And to top it all off he came out with the win, I agree that if the round had finished it was a 10-8 to Bellew giving him the lead on ALL judges scorecards.

Yes he was up on 2 of the scorecards and you were both level on the other, but at the end of the day you won the fight so is does not matter who was up on the scorecards.
So once the 8th round is over that puts me ahead in the fight and yes I agree it doesn't matter now as I did win, I just hope I get the credit I deserve as he is the only prizefighter winner to not get given better opportunities and I put that down to people not wanting to give him a shot, I did when I didn't have to!!!

Good luck to Ovill in the future I respect the guy an awful lot and the fact that he works as well as fights is a mark of the man, I wish him nothing but luck in the future..

Don't know where your coming from?? But I'll say this much, before the fight you said I'd get knocked out! You were wrong and since then you have continued to slate me?? I personally think your either 12 and showing off or your just plain sad, either way I won't reply to your nonsense again :shame:

I agree.I would say though, that the tactics were a bit ropey early on against Mckenzie.Ovil showed in Prizefighter he is very dangerous chinning the likes of Terry Dunstan early, and these guys were allowed to weigh over the Cruiser limit!Ovil was always going to try bombing out Bomber and i do think he should have been a bit cagier early doors.

im not a fan of the man's eyebrow, but his conditioning work has been tested for itself. firstly he has got bellew down down to 12-7
& secondly top class fitness peeled bellew of the floor from a very heavy ko to get to his feet & make an unbelievable recovery.

Very funny can you ko him, mcKenzie and Ajisafe are both good wins so unless it's for something new like the British title then why am I rematching them?? All respect to both guys but I beat both and I am the champion!! Not the other way around

Ajisafe no need. Clearly the guys here to wind you up.

Ovil was a gift of a stoppage AT THAT TIME, it has been disputed by a lot of people including your own fans. I dont care wether you were ahead / behind nything, i just care that the fight ended the wrong way. A rematch would be good for you to put an end to all the controversey. I'm sure you'd be confident of a win, and after the excitement of the first fight between you it would generate a hell of a lot of interest.

i love the way bomber writes on here, you can tell he lives for the sport, to me his a real pro who admitts his still learning, i think 2011 is going to be a big year for bomber, i can honestly say 6 months ago i wouldent of put bellew in the same ring as cleverly, but id fancy bellew every time from what ive watched recently, i know its all about levels and cleverly had an off night last time out just like bellew did 2 fights ago, but bellews heart is massive and that alone can take him all the way. good luck in 2011 bomber :TU:
