Warren hyped Mag 7 as his biggest bill in years and it was quite deep and proved to be quite competitive throughout. But after the Mag 7, he announced that he was planning an even bigger and even more spectacular show for his 30th anniversary. However, as much as I enjoyed saturday night, there were only really two competitive fights going into the night (Smith v DeGale and Macklin v Varon), while the remainder were largely ticking over fights. Now he announces another epic card for early next year. Considering the trajectory to date, I imagine we will be treated to perhaps one world title level fight (Cleverley or Macklin at a push) with safer fights for Brook, Gavin, DeGale and Saunders, a domestic level scrap for Chisora but it certainly won't be a card stacked with 4 or 5 fights the like of which are being suggested.

Edited to add....

Just found this on f warren.tv

"However Warren says his pre-Christmas show will be better.
I'm planning a huge show on 11th December at the ExCel in London to celebrate the 30th anniversary of my first boxing promotion," he wrote in his latest column.
I can promise that it will be bigger and better than the Magnificent Seven, and involve multiple world title fights."

Promises don't count for much with our F rank.

Exactly, don't expect anything better than the first Magnificent 7 card.

I thought the Magnificent Seven Bill was better than his most recent one.

To be fair quite a few of the big fights on saturday was cancelled or changed late on which didn't really help the quality of fights and the likes of kell brook and macklin cant keep on getting give me's so I imagine the plan is for at least 3 world title fights featuring clev, brook and either chisora or macklin. Whether it will happen or not is yet to be seen.
I also dont think all of his shows will be ppv what with ricky burns and people like that still not on ppv.

Yeah, exactly the same stuff trotted out after 'Magnificent 7' and it didn't happen.

Would be great if it was pulled off but based on the most recent precedent, I'll keep my powder dry.

 I think the honey Monster would pose a bit more of a challenge compared to his recent outings.

John Murray v Kev Mitchell?

Brook v a half decent opponent would help. The last bill was lucky Varon came to fight against Macklin.

I think if he does pull another big bill then fair play to Frank W, you cant expect all the fights to be competititve, i'e 50/50 as it's always his stable at risk, which is unfair...atleast he his getting his boys out there and getting the coverage for them and british boxing...you just can't please everyone it would seem...just my opinion :TU:
