Eric Crumble
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer

Reggie Strickland
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer

Are a couple of the more famous ones.

Donnie Penelton doesn't look to be having a lot of success, was Jean Pascal's 4th opponent.

Peter Buckley I believe has the most losses.

Probably Crumble. I fought on the same card with Reggie Strickland. He had good skills when motivated. He is better than his record indicates. He just fought anyone anywhere without any notice and fought to survive. Professional opponent.

 I'm thinking this Crumble guy is the kinda guy you can beat by just throwing punches. Whether they land cleanly or not, if you're punching, he's like " To hell with this".

I notice Johnathan Corn has been held to a draw against Donnie Penelton and a Split Decision win over Reggie Strickland. He also has a UD win over Penelton. His record looks much better than either of these guys but, he certainly hit the wall there towards the end.

Maybe they can put him in there with Crumble so he can end his career with a 1st or 2nd round KO win. :OhYes:

It's been suggested Crumble was an alias for someone else, & I wouldn't be all that surprised. Given the name, record, & the apparent manner of his defeats, who knows.

Where oh where are the films of this guy fighting? They'd be priceless artifacts, if ever they came to light...

Greb & Crumble, that's who I'd love to see :OhYes:

Even Crumble I'd argue was a better talent than guys like Charlie Zelenoff, Andrew Hartley, Jason McClure, David Dumas, Dave Molton, etc... Pretty much most guys Stacy Goodson promoted in the 90s and early 2000s. Losses do not necessarily mean anything. There's a big difference between guys like Bruce "The Mouse" Strauss and Danny Wofford.

Guy's like Strickland, Penelton and Laight don't belong in the discussion.

Anyway I think it's Dmitrijs Avsijenkovs, he has worse record than Eric Crumble, but some of his "professional matches" are on YouTube, I don't think they are legit.

If Crumble is the anti-Marciano, then I vote this guy as the anti-McFarland, consistantly losing to all the worst fighters. Getting KOed in a round or 2 by the guys that everyone else KOs in a round or 2

Fighters like these are the 21st century version of adding fake wins to your record.

Strickland and Penelton look to be legitimate 'ham and eggers' (opponents)

But Eric Crumble looks like a tanker, a 'card filler' -- someone a promoter schedules with there being an understanding going in; there are way too many first round KOs and he repeatedly suffers back to back KOs without sitting out the usual 90 day suspension. The whole career looks suspicious. It even makes you wonder if Eric "Crumble" wasn't just a witty alias with different fighters appearing at different times and places under the same name. It would be interesting to see if there is any consistency in who was promoting these fights.

His first and second fights look odd, he debuts (1990) at 151 and then fights three years later (1993) at only 136 -- only to reappear seven months later back at 151. Then in 1997 he fights at 142, 154, 151, and then at a ridiculous 131 only to reappear again just eight months later back at at 152.

Eric Crumble has the worst record for a so-called professional fighter that I have ever seen. I guess you could call him a "stiff par excellence."

John Basil Jackson is a good one. Well, a bad one, but you get the idea.

John Basil Jackson was far better than Eric Crumble. After all, Jackson won four of his bouts and went the distance a great majority of the time in his bouts. Crumble was stopped in all of his bouts.

I see the same problem with John Basil Jackson as I do with Eric Crumble there are too many weight discrepancies and several times he suffers KOs only to fight again in less than 30 days. I feel this may be the record of several fighters sharing the name and boxing licence. I am not saying that John Basil Jackson didn't exist but not all these fights are actually his.

We all know Dempsey's brothers at one time or another all appeared as "Jack Dempsey" - there is even a great story (maybe true, maybe not) that when Dempsey became champion the news boys were trying to assemble his record and discovered that "Jack Dempsey" had fought twice on the same night, two hundred miles apart. It was obvious to Dempsey that one them was his fight and the other was one of his brothers, the problem was Dempsey was no longer sure which fight was his.

But I think both Crumble and this guy are actually multiple fighters.

During the 1980s and 1990s, there were a number of boxing figures who had stables of incompetent fighters. Such boxing figures included Black Ramon and Jimmy Montoya. There was another boxing figure based in Ohio who not only had a stable of incompetent fighters, but he himself was one of the incompetent fighters in his own stable! His name escapes me at this moment.

Thank you, HomicideHenry! Take a look at the number of incompetent fighters appeared on the same cards that James Holley fought on by looking at his record. Holley was from Ashtabula, Ohio. He had a record of five wins, three by knockout, and fifty-five losses, all fifty-five by knockout! Yes, he was a true "stiff."

"Hawk" Holly was quite a character. Not only was he an oft-beaten opponent himself but so was his brother, Gene. The Hollys were a part of the Ashtabula, Ohio "Cooler Gang". A stable of fighters that could always be counted on to show up & invariably lose within a round or two.
