Should be a cracker little fight this, I'm really looking forward to it. Bayaar is a tough, strong guy and will look to push the inexpierenced Edwards back and show him the difference in strength between journeymen and British level fighters, though Bayaar can box nicely as he showed against Sexton so this adds another dimension to his game so all in all he's a tough fight for anyone! From what I've heard Edwards is a nice tidy boxer with crisp, clean fast punches so should look to catch Shinny coming in and then move or clinch. Should be a good blend if styles and
make for a good, interesting fight

Almost happened in his previous fight too. At least they are changing it I guess but no consolation to Shinny.

Ye agreed it would be a true disgrace if Shinny never got a shot at Edwards.

I think Edwards was celebrating a very hollow victory. To celebrate like that was wrong imo. An accidental clash of heads is such a piss poor way to win a fight within 90 seconds when barely a punch has landed. I would be too embarassed to run around the ring and shout the odds. At least when Paul Williams won his fight against Cintron in bizarre circumstances he had the grace to look and act embarassed. Edwards proved nothing.

It was embarrassing all round fom Edwards, Maloney and Smith who could have said we are demanding that Edwards next fight is Bayaar!

Get your head out your arse!

Edwards is a young lad who's just been crowned British champ. He's boxed from a young age building up this moment, and he isn't supposed to be made up? Come on now.

Behave bacca you think any pro who's given there life to a sport dreams of winning it like that? That was embarrassing. I respect your views on most things on here but you're blinded when in comes to scouse fighters.

I'm sorry pal but Edwards "won" nothing. 90 seconds into a fight and an accidental clash of heads stops the contest. To run around the ring celebrating like that was embarassing. You think he should feel satisfied "winning" like that?

Both guys will have worked their arses off for that fight and for a champion to lose his title like that is an utter disgrace. Not Edwards fault granted, but he is now champion without winning a round, scoring a knokdown or even landing a meaningful punch.
You think winning a title like that should be celebrated?

Edwards said as much in the interview, but to say he can't celebrate because it's embarrassing? Get a grip boys.

He's British champ, regardless of how the fight ended - what if he'd won a world title in a similar matter, say his opponent injured himself a hand during the first, would you call him embarrasing for celebrating that? My arse.

He wouldn't have won a world title like that as it would have been declared a NC.

If you think winning a British title fight like that should be celebrated, then fair enough that's your opinion. The fact he is now called British champion without winning a round, scoring a KD/KO or even landing a meaningful punch leaves a bitter taste in my mouth as did the celebrations. You get excited about it if you want mate that's your right but I feel sorry for Shinny being robbed like that.

Hopefully the BBBoC do the right thing and it gets settled in the ring properly.

Sorry to be contrary Jai but it was embarrassing because it was such a hollow victory. I haven't seen a victory more hollower in fact in over 30 years of watching this sport - I remember reading about Andre Hoylk beating Jim Watt on a first round cut stoppage but it was nothing like that if I remember rightly. One thing is for sure that there has to be an immediate re-match.

Since the result, Edwards has said he thought the cut was made by the punch that landed just prior to the head clash. During his celebrations, the ref appears to tell him something down the lines of it being the head that caused it, and Edwards calms down. Edwards didn't celebrate when his hand was lifted, and acknowledged what happened in the post-fight interview. Do you still think his reactions were embarrassing?

^^ this is in Edwards defence. Myself, I still believe i'd be over the fvcking moon at being crowned British Champ, regardless of how it happened.
