I'll buy into that. BN is far more slick and the design treatment is obviously given significantly more consideration.dbf wrote:By far and away my favourite magazine. 2010 really was a good year for BM! My only criticism is the look of it. The graphics and style just seem quite, well, boring and outdated. I like BN's look a lot. I wonder if a re-design is on the cards for 2011?

Picked up my copy from Smiths and fantastic read as always. It is the only mag out there that for me.
End of Year issue is always a pleasure to read with the "Quotes" being my favourite section.

Terrific issue this month. Only started buying it again recntly when I heard that they did a feature on John Mugabi.
Anyway great issue still on the crossword, 70% done on that will finish it tonight.
By the way, at first glance I thought the photo of Roy Jones in the calender was Joe Frazier. Anyone agree? Roy looks old in that photo.

Thoroughly enjoyed the January 2011 edition of Boxing Monthly (as usual)
Especially liked how the editor "name checked" this fourm
Good to know that people in the industry read "us" as well.

Yup, when I looked at that picture I thought 'Who the feck's that? He looks a bit like a very old Roy Jones. Shit, it is Roy Jones!'McCannW14 wrote: By the way, at first glance I thought the photo of Roy Jones in the calender was Joe Frazier. Anyone agree? Roy looks old in that photo.

I have been buying this from day 1 to now, all life issues and stresses take a back seat as I read from cover to cover. It will be with me every month for life. Happy subscriber.

Since the December issue was available on the Ipad, I subscribed, but I'm disappointed to see that the Ipad app hasn't been updated with the latest copy yet.

Re: This month's Boxing Monthly
The January issue is great as always I enjoyed the yearly review, the Mickey Ward interview was 'awesome' "Arturo hit me me with a left hook and I felt my brain shift in my skull" I always wondered what a Gatti hook felt like now I know...
Froch. Rios, Spinks all ace thanks.
I have one complaint though r.e The Calendar images for each month I personally prefer a still taken from a relevant fight that envokes memories like Katsidis' hook that put down Marquez to a picture of a boxer posing with his serious face and the fight images that are there aint great. konecny/hall is prob the best
There are plenty of images through the mag that would have been better eg Froch/Abraham or Floyd with Hitler tache..![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
A bit of a moan about nothing I know just my opinion

FR, the calendar was a bit of a departure this year as we wanted to use shots from Chris Bevan, BM's house photographer, every month. We'll do loads of different themes in future, God willing.

... but we've sacked him now, any photographer who can make Roy Jones look like Sonny Liston is obviously crap!

I hear there is a special commemorative Jane and Glyn calendar scheduled to be released in competition with the official royal engagement calender early figures indicate that demand for the former outstrips the demand for the offering from Clarence HouseFinal round wrote:I would've preferred Jane Couchwrimc wrote:I have to admit i like the inclusion of Tony Booth![]()
