do we really want to see khan presscott
do we really want to see khan presscott
do not really want to see this fight now, since the lost khan has gone up in class since then and moved on.
Would this fight sell in here the uk?
what are your thoughts on this looks like golden boy wants this one in the uk

Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
Yeah it would sell.... makes sense to have it hear if they will have it.
I would still like to see Prescott hook up with a name trainer. Even in his defeats I see bags of potential that can be worked on if he has the attitude.

If only to avenge his sole defeat he should do it, a la Lennox.

No thanks it would be a waste of time now. Khan has well moved on from there and Prescott has started to really drop.

Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
I don't. Any fight has been devalued by the ease Kevin Mitchell beat him and his other defeat. There is the revenge angle, but I think it was of those fights that will go down as a fluke. Obviously Lou Dibella and Prescott will be pushing for it simply becasue Khan is the where the money is. However, imo Khan has way bigger fights to go for and Prescott blew his victory over Khan.
Wlad didn't rematch Ross Purity or Corrie Sanders and it has hurt his legacy, likewise with Khan imo.

Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
I wouldn`t like to see it. Both different weight guys now anyways .. and Prescot has been shown to have just got lucky.
Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
Khan is verging on top 20 p4p status now, while Prescott is getting outclassed by guys like Mitchell and Vasquez. Don't get me wrong, they are decent fighters, but at the world level they are average at best. I have no interest in this bout really. Khan has moved on to much bigger and better things, while Prescott's career is traveling in the other direction.

Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
Would be an interesting fight, and Prescott still has a big punchers chance
Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
I believe he should avenge this defeat, it would be the mark of a true champion IMO. But the risk is to great, Khan's set to generate million's over the comming years and nobody wants to risk screwing that up for a Prescott rematch that nobody is really calling for. He can easily avoid this one without taking much flak for it.
If Khan/Roach/Golden Boy were all confident of winning this fight it would happen next, but Prescott is a true 'wildcard' and with his wild looping thundering hooks, i dont think Khan will be allowed anywhere near him ever again.

Should have been the rematch the fight after.
Both are heading in different directions now.

what a waste of time that would be, same with this mooted Zab Judah fight. If Khan comes home just to fight a warm up and then goes back to the US for Bradley or an even bigger fight it's a slap in the face for the UK fight scene.
Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
I don't see it like that.goldenears wrote:what a waste of time that would be, same with this mooted Zab Judah fight. If Khan comes home just to fight a warm up and then goes back to the US for Bradley or an even bigger fight it's a slap in the face for the UK fight scene.
Of course the fight against Bradley or Alexander is most likely to be in the US, where the majority of the big fights are. Khan needs a softer "keep busy" type fight after Maidana in the meantime, so why not have it in the UK?

If Khan's keep busy fight in the UK is against Judah, he might never return to the states. I did not see Judah's last fight so i am not exactly sure how he is performing now, but even a Judah at 70% is still a very risky proposition IMO.
Full credit to Khan if he takes Judah as a so called 'tune up'!

Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
What happened to Khan fighting Mayweather? Haha, what a load of bullshit!
The Maidana proved that Khan has durability better than what most thought & proved he has Heart, but it also proved that he is NOWHERE near ready for Floyd. Perhaps he never will be! Mayweather would pick him off round after round!
I don't particularly want to see Khan face Prescott as Amir would easily outclass, EASY! I'd much rather see Khan face winner of Bradley/Alexander, or even fight Zab Judah!

Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
Khan has shown he's past Prescott's level by a good way, the only way people would like to see him fight Prescott is to test his chin but Judah and Maidana have (or will) test his chin more. Prescott has already shown his level (well below world class) he's a limited bomber and Khan has way to many dimensions for him
Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
It's like saying we want to see Haye/Thompson II again. Both have gone in opposites directions. If Mitchell can out-box him then the new, stong Khan will beat him, IMO. Easily actually.
Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
khan should have fought prescott straight after being kayoed
he was kept away from him incase he finished his career
timing is now perfect for a rematch and the general public would but into it

Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
Atfer Kahn defeats either Bradley or Alexander. Prescott should be his first Undisputed Title defence.
Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
Bob, don't be a silly billy. If Khan went straight back in him would've been Ko'd again. Confidence is massive in this game, dude.boxerbob wrote:khan should have fought prescott straight after being kayoed

Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
The bottom line is presscott is a better fighter than khan because they've fought and he won and that's the way it will remain until/if khan returns the favour
I think a big part of why lennox is looked upon so well is cuz he beat every man he ever faced, returning the favour to mccall and Rahman I'd like to see khan put presscott away aswell

Again, don't be silly. Khan went forward from that fight, the Columbian went backwards. It's hardly Lewis/Rahmen II.Andypittcov wrote:The bottom line is presscott is a better fighter than khan because they've fought and he won and that's the way it will remain until/if khan returns the favour

What you talking about you fool, lennox fought Rahman straight away and won, rahman has since gone backwards but you've just told boxerbob that he's silly for suggesting khan should have fought presscott straight away cuz he would of got sparked so your contradicting yourself abit fellaDioufy wrote:Again, don't be silly. Are you saying that Khan shouldv;e gone straight in with Prescott after his loss? It would've been another massive KO.

Re: do we really want to see khan presscott
Khan in my opinion should just concentrate on keeping his belt. The Prescott defeat won't really mean anything unless Amir's CV ever reaches the point of distinguishing him as a truly great fighter.
A rematch at this stage would be foolhardy because: a) The top end of the 140 division is stacked with enough danger for Khan to prove his mettle and he's already made an excellent start with Maidana. b) It might just be that Breidis Prescott has a style/physique which will always result in Khan's undoing, a bit like Junior Jones in relation to MAB. Why prove it at the possible cost of his career?
