Groves would have to fight with his guard up or get Degale out there quickly, but he won't do either.

Degale can punch. Might not have a massive dig, but they are still nasty with the volume he throws. He'll definitely land on Groves, quite a few times you'd imagine.

I just can't see any way Groves can win, unless Degale's chin turns out to be china, but that appears quite solid too.

Come on, lads. I am saying that I am a fan of Groes, but DeGale would beat him. If by skill not power.

I hope Groves learns that he isn't Roy Jones Jr and he doesnt have the reactions to drop his hands and slip punches. He just looked silly trying to do that and getting caught again and again.

Liked the look of him against Adamu but has gone backwards in his last two fights. DeGale really stepped up.

DeGale was rocking Smith with uppercuts so he can punch a bit. More importantly its the ones you don't see that hurt you and he has speed, angles and a style you don't see every day. Unless you are his trainer

make you right about groves guard, he need's to be with a jimmy tibbs to reach his full potential. degale has natural flare & pinache, groves has ability but when trying to fight that way he'll allway's lose.
i felt sutherland was breaking degale in the olympics just constantly closing him down bobbing in & being busy, but then that said he was a 27yr old man v a 22 yrold kid.

I totally agree, bar that DeGale is a puncher. He hits ya with shots ya don't see but he's not going to KO you with them shots, IMO.

I don't think he is a puncher either just that he isn't feather fisted. He throws a lot that he doesnt put his weight behind though especially that awful pawing 'jab'. There aren't many one punch KO artists out there, doesnt mean he won't be able to knock people out.

But Scotty, I said DeGale would knock Groves out, but not with one shot. And this is coming from a ginger fan. DeGale can hit, but he can't KO, IMO.

Paul Smith has nothing to apologise for and did what he could. He is still a very capable boxer and can cut it with some of the top lads. The wat that DeGale won the fight showed that he is on the way to the top; that lad has got the capability and bottle to really give it a go. Paul Smith would get right up there as well (with the right draw) but we have to be honest, no matter who posts on here; the lad who beat Smith was very very good; it weren't a bad night and the lad who beat Smith would beat just about anyone in Europe pretty easy.

Smith looked pretty ordinary in his last 2 british title fights, FW didn't make this match for DeGale to lose, DeGale looked very impressive, he won every round bar one on my card and is clearly destined for great things, some people don't like his attitude, but what's different between him and kell brook? nowt other than DeGale gets more exposure.

Smith has failed to come up with the goods on to many occasions - when has he ever looked impressive? He looked crap winning the english middleweight belt against cello renda, he lost against steve bendall, he looked crap against quigley and dodson, he looked crap venturing at a higher weight against francis cheka before he did make the step up to SMW

Whilst he may be a fantastic bloke, Smith has consistently underperformed, he is no more and will never be more than domestic level.

About sums it up for me to be honest. Probably the worst recipient of the 'Boxrec Bounce'(i.e the overating of a fighter who posts) that I have seen since I've been reading this forums for the last 7+ years
