Great Lightweights (1945-85).

Post by Scypion »

I didn't get to see many of the lightweights before 1945 or after 1985, so here is my top 10 for that time period.

1. Roberto Duran
2. Ike Williams
3. Alexis Arguello
4. Carlos Ortiz
5. Bob Montgomery
6. Joe Brown
7. Beau Jack
8. Esteban DeJesus
9. Ken Buchanan
10. Ismael Laguna

Other lists are welcome. Time restrictions not necessary.

...it would be hard to find any lightweight better than those on this list. my favorite has always been ike williams...who was a little like a 135 pound joe louis...good boxer...terrific hitter... i consider a match between williams and duran one of the all time great dream match ups.

my idea of heaven is where we'd see all the possible great fantasy fights....and when the fights are over all the boxers are in good health.
