HEAVYWEIGHT BATTLE ON PASCAL/HOPKINS
WORLD TITLE FIGHT UNDERCARD
QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC, CANADA (December 17, 2010) Sensational Irish/British heavyweight prospect Tyson Fury will make his highly anticipated North American debut against veteran Zack Page on Saturday, December 18th in an eight round battle.
The Fury/Page special attraction matchup is featured on the undercard to the WBC Light Heavyweight Diamond World Title bout between Canada’s Jean Pascal and boxing legend Bernard Hopkins at the sold out Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City. The event will be broadcast LIVE on pay-per-view in Canada on Canal Indigo, Bell TV, Shaw TV and Viewer's Choice in French and English at 7:00 p.m. ET, and on Primetime – Sports PPV Channel 480 on Sky in the UK and Ireland beginning at Midninght GMT.
Fury was originally lined up against New York City based Israel Garcia, but the veteran Page is seen as a much better challenge.
Earlier this year Page pitched an eight round shutout victory over the man who forced Mike Tyson into retirement, Kevin “The Clones Colossus” McBride in New York.
Following the fight with Page, McBride went on to a very successful outing at the Prizefighter Heavyweight Tournament, winning a decision over Franklin Egobi on October 10th at York Hall in London.
Page, a wily veteran of the ring, is no stranger to pulling off the big upset victory on the road, having gone to Germany in January of this year only to beat the highly regarded heavyweight prospect Sebastian Kober, then 19-0.
The 6’9” Fury is more than ready for any challenge that Page can bring to the table and can’t wait to step into the ring on Saturday night: “This fight is a great opportunity for me to show people why I’m the most talked about heavyweight prospect in World Boxing. I am so excited to be a part of such a fantastic event, in what is probably one of the biggest matches in Canadian boxing history. And to be escorted into the ring by George Chuvalo, a man who was involved in the biggest heavyweight fight in Canadian history when he faced off against Muhammed Ali, is truly inspiring” Said the ShowBox alum.

Good test for Fury, Page is a game journeyman and should give him a test.
Re: TYSON FURY FACES ZACK PAGE
Yep. This is a proper test and he'll struggle unless he's in better shape than we've seen so far.

Nothing wrong with this one. Page does spring the odd upset. If Fury hasn't prepared well enough he could struggle

Highly anticipated north american debut?Since when!lol
Re: TYSON FURY FACES ZACK PAGE
I think we may say a different Fury in this fight, he's trained at The Kronk gym and in Austria now Canada. I think he'll be in way better shape than before anyway. He's never gonna set the world on fire but at least he's putting himself about, he'll probably fight in the US next year on a decent show.

Re: TYSON FURY FACES ZACK PAGE
Tyson Fury weighs in at 268lbs, thats his 2nd heaviest. Zack Page is 218lbs which is his heaviest ever.
So maybe the we could be in for a bit of a maul , points win for Fury looks the favourite result.

Re: TYSON FURY FACES ZACK PAGE
Due to the numerical composition of their records, the average person attending this fight probably thinks Page is a much worse opponent than Garcia. In reality, Page is a much tougher challenge. Fury will get in rounds and probably have a little trouble here and there, but I will be surprised if the fight is close. If Fury stops Page, that is an impressive result.
Page is always getting these types of fights against prospects/contenders. I bet he makes more than some bigger name guys who fight about twice a year.

Has Fury ever been in shape for a fight? If the OP is paid by the word, Fury will make him a billioniare. How many opponent announcements are there going to be!?
Re: TYSON FURY FACES ZACK PAGE
I think it is sensible to only put him in for 8 rounds

Re: TYSON FURY FACES ZACK PAGE
Page's record is misleading - he gets jobbed all the time. He's very useful and will probably beat Fury, only to get humped again.
Re: TYSON FURY FACES ZACK PAGE
Page is the best opponent mentioned for Fury on this canadian Bill. fury will box decently to win but will be doing very well if he can cause a stoppage as this fella is very durable, although he is a journeyman he comes to win.....quite unusual nowadays!!!
Re: TYSON FURY FACES ZACK PAGE
80-72 Tyson, anyone see the fight? was it as easy as the scorecards suggest?

I only watched the first 2 rounds of it. Was all to predictable. Fury dwarfed him and just kept sticking out the jab. Page would lnd the odd punch to Fury's chest.( Furys trunks were up to just below his man boobs)

Watched it live and the size difference was huge. Page backtracked most of the time and it was a comfortable win for Fury though difficult for him to tag Page cleanly.
