Have there been many fighters who didnt join the pro ranks til they were 30+

Born Feb 1941
first professional fight was April 1971.

I have seen Lyle on-report as having been born in 1942, as well.

Kendall Gill, who was a basketball player, started as a pro when he was 37. There have probably been many other guys who fought at the 4-round level who started in their 30s.

Jess Willard, was close; he was 29.

Oklahoma City heavyweight Claude "Humphrey" McBride was 37 or 38 when he had his first professional fight.
