If you think winning a British title fight like that should be celebrated, then fair enough that's your opinion. The fact he is now called British champion without winning a round, scoring a KD/KO or even landing a meaningful punch leaves a bitter taste in my mouth as did the celebrations. You get excited about it if you want mate that's your right but I feel sorry for Shinny being robbed like that.

Hopefully the BBBoC do the right thing and it gets settled in the ring properly.

Sorry to be contrary Jai but it was embarrassing because it was such a hollow victory. I haven't seen a victory more hollower in fact in over 30 years of watching this sport - I remember reading about Andre Hoylk beating Jim Watt on a first round cut stoppage but it was nothing like that if I remember rightly. One thing is for sure that there has to be an immediate re-match.
Since the result, Edwards has said he thought the cut was made by the punch that landed just prior to the head clash. During his celebrations, the ref appears to tell him something down the lines of it being the head that caused it, and Edwards calms down. Edwards didn't celebrate when his hand was lifted, and acknowledged what happened in the post-fight interview. Do you still think his reactions were embarrassing?

^^ this is in Edwards defence. Myself, I still believe i'd be over the fvcking moon at being crowned British Champ, regardless of how it happened.

This travesty needs to be corrected straight away.If he genuinly thought it was stopped due to a punch then fair enough. If Edwards commits to the rematch and wins fair and square then I will be the first on here to congratulate him and wish him the best .

I've just watched a re-run of this fight on sky+ and was shocked by Frank Maloney's comments to Sky after the fight, to say "the result was inevitable" without a full round of boxing complete, was a utter disgrace and totally biased towards Paul Edwards.

Maloney is Shinny's promoter but you wouldn't have thought it with these comments, Shinny probably doesn't sell many tickets and Frank probably thinks Edwards would be easier to sell to the public which would be a shame as Shinny seems to be a very likable and interesting character and is a talented and exciting fighter to watch, maybe more creative ways of promoting Shinny would be needed but I doubt Maloney is interested in doing this.

I know Frank Maloney is Paul Edwards promoter as well but he clearly was biased towards him in this case, Shinny Bayaar should get a rematch as soon as his cut heals, good luck to him, I think we would outpoint Paul Edwards clearly, maybe he should think of finding another promoter though.

Frank Maloney always acts the idiot in post fight interviews.

Apparently McDermott beat Williams twice and was ''disgracefully robbed'' against Fury the first time - the Williams fights were both pretty close but Danny edged both, while I had the Fury fight level at five apiece.

Likewise the Jeffries vs Bambula farce, saying the ref was a disgrace and that Bambula only won two rounds.... I'd say he was unlucky not to be awarded the win.

It's all opinions I agree, but I had McDermott winning both his fights with Williams and if you scored the first fight with Fury a draw - you must be blind. :TU:

Well done, Paul. John Simpson got stick when he first won the British title from Andy Morris on cuts - and look at him now. Have a great Christmas.
