I didn't agree with a lot of Haye's comments pre-Audley, but we're talking about a guy who made these comments moments AFTER beating Jennings - one of the sport's gentlemen - on a cut. It was out of order.danfoster wrote:I dont think he comes across as arrogant on tv - but then i do know him personally.Captain Hook wrote:danfoster wrote:Both Press Association and BBC rate each of both Kell and Amir in the top five pound for pound in the uk.
He also comes across as an arrogant twat, from what I've seen on TV. Maybe he's different off-camera. His comment about being disappointed he didn't leave Jennings "unconscious" on the mat for his fans still rankles with me.
i think you're being a bit precious regarding the jennings comment, mate. lots and lots of fighters, including david haye (of whom i am a massive fan) have said a lot, lot worse
As you're his friend you'll obviously have a different opinion to me, as mine is based purely on what I've seen and read. Perhaps he should work a little on his PR and go on a bit of a charm offensive.
Nobody has heard of him, even though he is more talented than a lot of boxers getting more publicity. We know him for negative rather than positive reasons outside the ring.
Maybe that will change in 2011, but it won't come on the back of a Khan fight, he has bigger fish to fry.
