[quote] Hearns: The only thing that we can be absolutely, 100% certain about mythical matchups is: we will never know. Boxing history is full of vicious, seasoned, primed hardpunching fighters who on the night could have, should have but did'nt win.

Hey Hearnsy, instead of trying to be a wise old conservative owl, that says hoot, hoot, and bores everyone, why not show some gumption and bark occasionally, why not actually assess Choc Mundine v Mattioli, give an account or opinion....you can only get your head ripped off...and laughed out of the forum.....hahahha. (Maybe you are not old enough to have been in the two eras ?)

I have only seen a few of Mattioli's fights, he looked really good and would give Mundine a tough fight. At 154 he would have beaten Mundine. Im not sure at 168 how the fight would play out though. Mundine had great movement at that weight and might have been able to box his way to a win. Although if Rocky hurt Mundine early he could stop him or get Mundine fighting defencivlly and box his way to a win.

Congratulations Myron,
You actually think Mattioli, the undisputed 154lb world champion would have beat Mundine whose most impressive win at 154 was Ryan Waters. You are a genius.
I didnt offer an opinion because firstly, I dont give a fark, secondly, i dont give a fark. I gave my opinion on Mundine at 154. I said had the argie Jerez possess a harder punch he would have KOed Mundine.
I dont play mythical matchups because after watching boxing for 50 years i reckon anything can happen. I have read some of your opinions, you said Wood koed Mundine with an illegal punch,do you really think Tony Mundine or Anthony would say nothing if that was the case. You are also the only person who never seen the right hand body shot by Wood that started the end. You are also the one who stated unless you have been knocked out by a punch behind the ear then you shouldnt post on a boxing forum. WTF. Are you for real or just a troll. Any way have a good day at school. WOOF WOOF.

i think myron was talking about the time his mum belted him behind the ear, these fellows have been talking hypothetical matchups as long as i.ve been on this forum.they have green beating the world after going 12 rounds in a don,t hit me and i won,t hit you, joke, flores went back improving his rating and green got a bit of respect back.what is going around is nobody is coming out here to beat green, that is why green wont go overseas, the crowd behind him will tell you nobody will fight him, bullshit fenech, kosta , katsidis. darchinian can all get fights, green is in the same camp as mundine, they have a cash cow here. i know who i would rather have in my stable out of green and flores, all the best merry xmas to ALL

Patron,
I'm sure Myron knows plenty about punches, legal and illegal. My point was about Mythical Matchups. I've spent plenty of time on different boxing sites argueing about boxers from different eras, in the end i decided whats the point. No one knows for sure and no one really cares.Argueing on the net is like competeing in the special olympics, even if you win, no one really gives a fark. I would rather discuss what really did happen in a fight not who could of or should have won in a hypothetical. Never boxed as a pro, never had the inclination or the ability but i love this sport and love the banter about different opnions.
All the best for the Xmas, You too Myron

See !! You actually can work outside of another model of behaviour Hearnsy....you actually gave an opinion re Mattiolli v Mudine, as I suggested.......very, good boy Hearnsy,( pat, pat )...and you barked as I wanted you to.

Q: Do you call yourself Hearns to give credibility to yourself? I think TheHootyWoofer, would suit you better as to your boxing reporting prowess.

Merry Christmas to you too mate..(genuinely)

The HootyWoofer, I think i like it.
A: I use Hearns because he is my favourite fighter. Best Junior/Middle i ever saw. IMO.
A: Yes i am old enough to have been in both eras. Grew up in Darlinghurst, Hardly ever missed a fight at Rushy Stadium from 1960 till she closed. Used to climb the fence on the White City side and come up through the bleacher seats. Most times the Redcoats would give up chaseing us. Hardly ever missed a TV ringside show, it was the highlight of my week. Really hate argueing on forums, especially when they turn out to be
"Boxrec Rangers ''whose entire boxing knowledge is usually all the Rocky movies. Would love to talk boxing at any time, but leave me out if they are hypotheticals. ;;-)
