A really dissapointing choice of opponent when you consider that the other available options were berto and marquez.

Agreed. It's going to be a very, very one-sided fight.

You know what I think Pacquiao will struggle with Shane. The way to beat Shane has always been with a sharp stiff jab, he deals reasonably well with people coming in with fast combinations (De La Hoya, Vargas). Ok Mosley is faded and Pacquiao is faster than the names I mentioned but Pacquiao's defence isn't great and is open when he comes in throwing I think Mosley still has enough left to match his combo's early and force him back throwing his own fast combinations. But for me it's a question of how much does Shane gave left judging by his last fight not much but saying that Mora Is one hell of an awkward guy! I really don't see this being as straight forward as people think I think Pacquiao will get through winning a close, but clear Decision. But nowhere near as convincenally as Floyd. Should be an exciting match up though

Shane will get stopped around 9 or 10. He's pretty much shot, and Pac is on a phenomenal run.

I'm not happy with this at all, its a very poor choice of opponent for Pac. When is he going to start fighting 'live' fighters that actually have a winning run going at the time of fighting him? All of his last few opponents had been beaten at least once in their previous 3 fights. Shane has won 2 of his last 5. Margarito had been inactive for a year and had been blasted by Mosley. Clottey had been beaten by Cotto. Hatton had been beaten by PBF. De La Hoya had been beaten by PBF.

Come on Pac Man, you're starting to look a little silly. Man up and fight Marquez, Berto or Mayweather. In fact, I'd rather see him face Tim Bradley at 140 than this... and I don't rate Tim Bradley one bit.

so a draw with mora gets u a fight with pac.

i think this arum quote sums it up.

"I thought Mosley was the best draw of the three and it would do the best business," said promoter Bob Arum. :x

Can't agree with that, fella. I think Pacquiao will totally overwhelm him with his combination speed. Mosley might have the odd success but I think it will be at the the expense of being on the receiving end of two or 3 from Manny.

I don't see one thing Shane has in his arsenal to trouble Pac-Man.

Can see this one being over by the half-way mark. Can also see Mosley's face resembling a plumb when it's over.

Arum is getting infuriating in his refusal to deal with GBP. Boxing is the only sport where this would be allowed to happen, i.e. one fighter can't face another (i.e. Marquez) because one promoter doesn't like another. Pacman's his cash cow and he's milking it, while taking as little risk as possible.

It was clearly a business, rather than boxing decision. I see a Pac win in the 8th round or thereabouts.

What are the merits of the other fights though?

Marquez and Pac could meet at 140 but would it be a mismatch now?

Is Berto ready for this level, or does he need another couple of tough fights before he is ready for the elite?

Pacman beat Hatton and De La Hoya in a more decisive way that Mayweather did and I expect the Mosley fight to go the same way with a mid-late stoppage win for Pac.

Makes monetary sense but little else really.

This will hopefully convince him to retire after this fight.

Just think Mosleys head is going to look even bigger than in normally does after Pacman batters him.

I'd have rather Marquez at lightweight or light-welterweight.

Pacman, by his own admission, can't make 135 anymore.

Which in & of itself is amazing when you think about it, seeing as his team are all over everywhere going on about the twelve protein shakes a day & the 7000 calorie diet...

Yea. That's correct. They only were willing for Manny to fight at 147 even though his walking weight is just over. He could make 140.

Totally pointless mismatch - thank god that its only the Americans who have to pay to see this! It really is their Haye vs Harrison! Mosley is shot and done - lost to the best in Mayweather in 2010 easy now he has to lose to the best in 2011 as well easy

mosley should have earned the fight against someone lke andre berto or paul williams though.

not just walked into it off the back of drawing with sergio mora.

A disappointing choice for me, Mosley gets hurt and paid handsomely for it.

Marquez fully deserved his shot at the trilogy on the back of the Katsidis performance.

Mosley couldn't live with Mayweather's stamina, and will come equally unstuck against Pacquiao.

This would have been a good match up once but not in 2011.
