In Boxrec there are only two fights recorded for Eugène Trickri (ID 371432). One is against Freddie Jacks in 1917. It seems that 1917 must be incorrect. Maybe the fight took place in 1915 instead because Trickri was killed on July 13th or 14th, 1915. He was then one of the best featherweight boxers in France. According to this article he was born in Paris on February 11th, 1891,which could be interesting to add to his data in Boxrec too.

Re: Eugène Trickri
I got a photo of Eugène Trickri from his brother Maurice in the 1960's. How can this image be added to the biography part?

Re: Eugène Trickri
Is it possible to buy this photo ? Because Eugene Trickri (and Maurice) was a member of my family.
Thank You.
Thank You.
Re: Eugène Trickri
I might not be willing to part with the original photo but if you write to my e-mail address [email protected], I can get you a copy perhaps. I don't know much about the Trickri brothers, only what Maurice told me. Perhaps you can tell me more.

After logging in, you can upload the file here and then place it on Trickri's human page.Kohall wrote:I got a photo of Eugène Trickri from his brother Maurice in the 1960's. How can this image be added to the biography part?
Re: Eugène Trickri
Here is a rough translation of what Trickri wrote:
The war came to surprise me in convalescence. I had had, if you remember, the tympanum burst at the time of my combat with Fred JACKS. Immediately I joined my regiment, the 72nd Infantry and found my comrades full with spirit, like me. It was not thought that a thing has: to go to put a blow of it to the Germans to have disturbed world peace. It was, finally, the departure for the face and the baptism of fire awaited impatiently. I do not know if that produced the same effect with all, but here is impression which I felt Initially, of stupor while seeing falling the men around me, one moment of intense emotion, then, an access of rage. This rage which takes to you makes them to avenge and you make many silly things, that of going too much from before and exposing you unnecessarily. But the reason returned to me well quickly and I am ground as do it Boches. Then, I was accustomed there. The tended ear, the eye with the aguets, misfortune with imprudent which passes the end of its nose…. How they appear long, these hours of sliced and what a joy when finally the order is given to tackle the enemy trench! It is during one of these attacks in Argonne, that I was wounded and named corporal. It appears that I was brave. Without false modesty, I acknowledge that I did not realize there. I will even say that if it is that to be brave, we have all be to it this day… I hope on the occasion to be it many time still, because I discount to make my small share to put all knocked-out Boches!
ANd the report of his death --
We learned, last week, to insert it too late, the painful news of died of the popular boxer featherweight Eugene Trickri, killed with the head of its section, in Argonne, during a load with the bayonet. Perhaps Trickri, one remembers, had been wounded twice before. The first time, in Vitry-le-François, where it had shown as well bravery as it was promoted sergeant on the battle field. Given of this wound, it turned over on the face and took share with the famous business of Eparges. There, its valiancy appeared once more, and it had with its credit a beautiful quotation with the day order and was proposed for the rank of adjudant. It is in Eparges that it was wounded for the second time, a ball having crossed the biceps of the right-hand man to him; but Trickri was cured quickly, and, for the third time, joined his/her comrades. It was not to return any more. Eugene Trickri fell the national feastday, on July 14, while counter-attacking, close to X…, to take again a trench which the Germans had removed thanks to the assistance of asphyxiating gases. He had left the first of sliced and had just killed with his bayonet a German warrant officer when a glare of shell reached it with the face. The poor boy died on the blow.
