Froch by stoppage every day of the week
About Froch's power, he's been fighting against the best and has been hurting all of them so i think it is there. The ref would probably have to step in

Re: If Froch stepped up to light heavy
I think Cleverly's competitive for a good few rounds, maybe even outworks Froch for a portion of the fight. It would come at a cost and at some point it becomes Froch's fight. Cleverly's conditioning and virtue of not knowing how to lose would mean he'd take a bad beating down the stretch and either lose on points or by stoppage, whichever comes first. It's a fight that would ruin him imo.
Re: If Froch stepped up to light heavy
Cleverly is almost Calzaghe-like in the engine dept.
This i feel - gives him such a great chance against Froch.

Clev is only 23 and would struggle against people Carl has beat.
Let him learn his trade and if there is anyone from these isles he needs to worry about it's Luis Garcia.

Isn't Luis Garcia a s-middle?
How long before he makes a move on the guys over here? Or is he already beyond them?

He is obviously Cuban - and not Irish, British or European. So those title opportunities are unavailable to him.
He blew out Byron Mitchell in 2 and has had about 6 run outs this year (all at 175lb).

Re: If Froch stepped up to light heavy: It would be abad move!!!
He deson't need to move up in weight, Froch is at a crtical time of hiscareer, he had a fight with Johnson lined up for next year, then a unification bout later in 2011.
If Froch wins both these fights, only then will his legacy be restored.

Re: If Froch stepped up to light heavy
Easy? Based on what?
Clev is an unbeaten prospect, Froch is a superb champ at the weight below. Froch would have too much for him, I agree, but it wouldn't be "easy"
The only fight worth moving up for is a Pascal rematch if he gets offered decent money, otherwise there are still plenty of tests at SM.
Bute, Ward, Kessler rematch to avenge his only defeat etc etc...

What if he looks to our guys - without belts included - to get a world ranking?
But then again, which of our guys has a good world ranking without a belt ...
And the Byron Mitchel he blew away was not the same calibre as his title days. And as you have said. Luis Garcia is a lt-heavy.
I have only read reports on him, never actually seen any of his fights ... I may just youtube him now..
