Paddy McDonagh won't go beyond domestic level imo. He looked shite against Ciaran Healy.slapbangwhallop wrote:Carl Frampton, Jamie Kavanagh and Paddy McDonagh
Three very different but very talented Irish fighters and will hopefully get the chance to make waves in 2011.
Re: Boxers that will break through in 2011
A-Force Audley Harrison will show everyone what he is all about this year. The journey isnt over. Undisputed heavyweight king by the end of 2011. YES HE CAN.

Lets be fair to McDonagh, he was in his third fight as a pro and only 18 whereas Ciaran was an experienced 25 fight vet.ImElvis666 wrote:Paddy McDonagh won't go beyond domestic level imo. He looked shite against Ciaran Healy.slapbangwhallop wrote:Carl Frampton, Jamie Kavanagh and Paddy McDonagh

I thought it was a very good result.
Re: Boxers that will break through in 2011
Stephen Ormond looks the real deal and i reckon warren will move him along quick enough and Dean Byrne could pick up a title or two if he ends up coming home also.
Re: Boxers that will break through in 2011
As far as the Heavies go, I don't anticipate anyone 'breaking in' to disrupt the following names:
Chisora, Fury, Sexton, Rogan, Olubamiwo. Sprott has no buzz about him, I'm expecting another outing on the continent before a title fight here. Harrison... less said the better. I think Sexton and Rogan might be enticed into fights with Fury and Larry, in no particular order, all four need big-ish wins, some more than others, and Chisora once he sorts his immediate situation out, will look at two of those four this coming year IMO

I'm not taking away from it. It's a big step up for someone in their third fight but if you are talking about someone who's expecting to go on to winning world titles, he should have slaughtered him like James De Gale did in his 3rd fight. He's only a young fella and I wish him all the best but I don't think he'll come close to mixing it at world level. Hope he proves me wrong.slapbangwhallop wrote:Lets be fair to McDonagh, he was in his third fight as a pro and only 18 whereas Ciaran was an experienced 25 fight vet.ImElvis666 wrote:Paddy McDonagh won't go beyond domestic level imo. David Price won't excite with his style, but I reckon he may come through providing he keeps active.

Fairly harsh comparision hombre. DeGale was five years older and an Olympic Gold medallist.ImElvis666 wrote:I'm not taking away from it. I know he isnt English, but whatever happened to Yuri Romanov, such a wasted talent.
Re: Boxers that will break through in 2011
Rhys Davies' fight against Hastings Rasani was one of the four-round classics of our times, and I'm prepared to say that in court.Andypittcov wrote:
Yeah I know him and his twin bro Rhys,
Meanwhile, getting back on topic, I agree with everyone who has suggested Audley. A British Masters title is only just out of reach for him, if he plays his cards right.

Re: Boxers that will break through in 2011
Hopefully 2011 can be a good year for my brother Ali shah looking to get a good team behind him looks like he may have found a trainer for him in Manchester and is looking to get very fit and concentrate on boxing more often after April when his managers contract ends with John ingle.. Trainer and new manager hopefully all will be revealed when is for definite seems like he found the right guy to motivate him and train him and hopefully he can get some good fights this year I know he would love to box any one at his weight and gets the notice and recognition and fight for a title would be great for him I can see him and think he can win English British and commonwealth titles he has the talent and hopefully someday world titles I hope the public and boxing fans and writers all take to him and he knuckles down this year and fights some good opposition... New trainer and hopefully management team all to be revealed in good time.. I think This can be a good new year him if all goes to plan.. Fingers crossed!!
