well if that's true then, Amir, you'll make yourself an easy 2m and take the fight, i presume?

£2m for Khan to fight Brook? Says who?
He's looking forward at Bradley and co, not over his shoulder at Brook, who hasn't even made a dent on the world scene, let alone justified a title shot.

Brook has done nothing to justify being mentioned as a oppenent for Khan, its all to get his name out there by FW...When he does step up to world level i believe he will be exposed....Captain Hook wrote:£2m for Khan to fight Brook? Says who?

hang on a minute - remind me who Amir beat before (and after) he got the belt? Dont give me Barrera - he was past it and blown up and got a terrible cut. Should have been a no-result.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:Brook has done nothing to justify being mentioned as a oppenent for Khan, its all to get his name out there by FW...When he does step up to world level i believe he will be exposed....Captain Hook wrote:£2m for Khan to fight Brook? Amir has one truly impressive win on his record (Maidana) and even then he had an absolute war with a somewhat leaden footed slugger who he should have easily outboxed. I think Amir is massively over-rated but that is my personal opinion.
i try to like amir but the stupid, disrespectful crap he comes out with on Twitter (especially re Froch and Macracken) always reminds me that he is arrogant, disrespectful and believes his own hype and that generated by those on his own payroll.
anyway, kell has a very different recollection of how events unfurled when they sparred and i expect he'll be having to something to say about this in due course.

I like Brook and think he will do very well for himself, but at this stage of his career what exactly has he done to earn a shot at Khan?

Dan - Are you his press officer?
He is way, way more arrogant than Khan from what I've seen, and Khan is the world champion coming off a big win and aiming for Tim Bradley.
Big wins of note - Maidana, Malignaggi, Barrera (faded, admittedly) and Kotelnik. You can throw an Olympic silver medal into the pot as well.
Brook is a talent, but he has not shown it yet past domestic level. Biggest win? Probably Jennings on a cut.
Looking at it as a neutral, rather than as his pal, then you would have to agree Khan would beat Kell Brook handily at this stage of their careers? Throwing him in with the world champ on the back of a win over Kotey would be a bad move.
FW is just trying to get publicity for him off the back of Khan.
PS Did you see Khan on Noel's Xmas Presents? Enough to bring a lump to your throat

Malignaggi would be a great opponent for Brook, he's a dream for a fighter in Brook's position. He is a big name gatekeeper who can't punch.sg1985 wrote:FW should go after someone like Malignaggi now he's at 147, that's a big name fight, would really get Brook some attention and it would be a step up.Scrap wrote:Id fancy Brooks to beat Him, Brooks hasnt been out of 1st gear yet.

Brook is realistically 3/4 fights away from a shot at Khan, and those fights would have to be against guys like Paulie, Gomez, McCloskey, or how about Ajose Olusegun?
The welter and light welter divisions run deep with talent, plenty of guys knocking on the door, and they're knocking louder than Brook.

what is kell's take on amir would have him for breakfast
Re: Amir tweets that bashed Brook in sparring ...
Khan beats him up systematically.
More of interest, what of Warren's promise to Jennings regarding a re-match?
Anyways, based last opponents, fightss to date and overall resume, Khan blows Brook to bits.

Re: Amir tweets that bashed Brook in sparring ...
Brooks not on anyones radar - Lou DiBella has said as much when asked about Brook for Berto, the big fighters are going to go nowhere near him because US TV isn't in the slightest bit interested in him because Fwank has guided him along so carefully.
Understandable of course to protect his prospects, but the latest match up was an absolute joke and in his only credible challenge to date, Brook got an incredibly fortunate early cuts win over unlucky Jennings, until he beats some people who come to fight over a few rounds, he's not getting near a serious shot
Khan is in the big money league of fights now and will only be fighting name fighters because he's in the club as far as US TV is concerned now, this is something Mr Warren is going to have to prove he can still do with his current crop of prospects by putting at least one of them in that position.
DeGale has way more chance of being the breakout star of Warrens' current stable than Brook IMHO who has shown nothing that impressive for me

Kell Brook WILL NEVER beat a proper fighter.....A decent world ranked fighter....
Re: Amir tweets that bashed Brook in sparring ...
i bet you was one of them ones saying amir would get beat by maidana but now he beat him your finding ways to slag maidana off. get off your 30ft perch and stop slagging one of the massive hopes weve got..danfoster wrote:hang on a minute - remind me who Amir beat before (and after) he got the belt? I think Frank is a little bit wary that if he does create a superstar and get them 'into the club' there's every chance that they will slam the club door in his face and go solo.goldenears wrote:Brooks not on anyones radar - Lou DiBella has said as much when asked about Brook for Berto, the big fighters are going to go nowhere near him because US TV isn't in the slightest bit interested in him because Fwank has guided him along so carefully.

Most of the criticism levelled at Brook is that he hasn't beaten anyone yet. Well, that isn't his fault and I have a feeling this will be addressed next year.
Hard to talk up a match from his side quite yet. I'd love to see one though, eventually.

Re: Amir tweets that bashed Brook in sparring ...
I might be slaughtered for saying this... But I can see this fight happening down the line at some point in the future, but not in the next 12-18 months as Amir Khan's (supposed) plan is to unify the belts at Light Welterweight which sees him fighting the winner of Devon Alexander v Timothy Bradley with (potentially) the WBA, WBC and WBO belts all on the line dependent on the winner of the fight as apparently if Bradley wins the WBC belt becomes vacant which is odd and then Khan will step to Welterweight, and Kell Brook has to be least given serious consideration regardless of what Khan had supposedly did him once in sparring, but times change and potentially fighters change. But Brook is ranked 10 in the world at Welterweight on here and is the (supposedly) mandatory challenger to Manny Pacquiao who holds the WBO Welter belt, but whether or not Golden Boy Khan's promoters see Khan-Brook as a big ticket seller in the future remains to be seen.

In fairness though, that Mike Jones chap was offered supposedly half-decent money to come and fight him; Gary Shaw admitted they stayed home for less money.
Al knows what he's doing and one trusts a decent shot will be forthcoming for Brook.

Is that mike jones chap the bloke who threw about 400 punches in one round on the PAC/marg undercard...if so him and kell would be interesting
Re: Amir tweets that bashed Brook in sparring ...
It seemed like Jones threw a 100 punch flurry in the second round against Karass, but he shot his wad doing it, and imo got beat up over the next 6 rounds, and was very lucky to win a decision.Andypittcov wrote:Is that mike jones chap the bloke who threw about 400 punches in one round on the PAC/marg undercard...if so him and kell would be interesting
As for the guy who asked who Amir has beat, he now has wins over 3 world class fighters. Who has Brook beat? Kotey? Jennings? Elwell, etc? Brook hasn't fought anyone near Khan's level. It's stupid for a Brook supporter/Khan basher to even bring up Khan's opposition in this discussion, it just makes Brook look even worse in comparison.
