How good is Scott Quigg?
How good is Scott Quigg?
I've only seen one of his fights (not the last one but the one before) and it seemed a very premature stoppage, but he's only 22 and has won all of his 21 fights. I managed to get hold of boxing monthly overhere and he got a good write-up (Although alot of the good words were by his promoter Ricky Hatten) and it said he'd be fighting for the Commonwealth title early in the new year. So how good is he?
Re: How good is Scott Quigg?
Hes genuinly very good i matched his first 6 or 7 fights and have seen most of his others.
Seen him in some hard sparring and he seems to take a good whack as well only 22 iv been telling people about this lad since he was 19.

He needs a stiffer test to be properly judged but so far so good.
Re: How good is Scott Quigg?
How far do you think he could go then? And do you know if he's signed to fight for the commonwealth title?jonp wrote:Hes genuinly very good i matched his first 6 or 7 fights and have seen most of his others.

Re: How good is Scott Quigg?
I think Scott defo has Euro honours in him,at the weight hes at you can run into some realy good fighters at world level (As Rendall munroe found out)
But hes always in the gym got time to improve with his age,hit hard and in a good camp o would not surprise me if he picks up a version of a world title with the amont going round.
To be fair with the amount of quality super bantams around britain at the mo he may find it harder to get pastthe british level than euro level

Scott can do very well in the British and European scene.
He travelled over the the Wildcard many moon's ago and they were impressed with him over there.

He needs a real test first then we can judge him, he is showing promise at the mo.

He's very good, and a top lad. He can go very far.
Rhys Roberts is another, he's class.

Re: How good is Scott Quigg?
I've only seen him on telly a couple of times but he looks so comfortable and he doesn't spoil his boxing by slinging in power shots every time. He seems to get enjoyment by making the other fella miss as well. As someone mentioned earlier superbantam is a very tough division; the Japanese man who beat Monroe was exceptional. I'm not sure he'll be World Champion but I hope he gets there; he seems a decent kid.

Sorry don't agree with that Tommy, I really like Roberts I think he's brilliantly skilled, good accuracy, can counterpunch, stamina, speed, good combinations. He isn't a big puncher but I think he more than makes up for that with his skills. Back to Quigg I like him he seems skilled and can pop a bit, he obvisouly loves the sport as you can see gradual improvement in every fight showing he is still learning and looking to better himself!

He's not tall at all, met him a few months back at a show. Seen more fat on a butcher's apron, I think he'll stick at SB for a good while.

Re: How good is Scott Quigg?
Colin Hart gave him a good write-up in The Sun yesterday, although the article seemed to merely be a rehash of the BM piece.
