I don't think he's that big a puncher, I think he just outclassed Smith and overwhelmed Dilks, I think his power comes from his brilliant accuracy and speed rather than 1 punch power maybe he is a bit better than a 6 though

Nope, I think you got it spot on to be honest. The higher he goes the lack of KO power will become more apparant. He'll still reach the top though.alexpaterson wrote:I don't think he's that big a puncher, I think he just outclassed Smith and overwhelmed Dilks, I think his power comes from his brilliant accuracy and speed rather than 1 punch power maybe he is a bit better than a 6 though

Price yes, Jeffries not so sure. You obviously don't win an olympic medal if you can't box, but Jeffries of all the young hopefuls has not impressed me one jot since turning pro.FtmPress wrote:You have forgot David Price and tony jeffries these are 2 to watch in 2011

Price is hard to judge due to his competition and really needs to kick on a lot in 2011, or he's going to stagnate.
100% agree with Alex's assessment of DeGale, i think he's going to be okay as he moves up the ladder due to sheer accumalation of punches landed, his accuracy from strange angles is frightening.
Gavins power will improve once he finds a few opponents that look to open up more, in my opinion.

Re: the olympians
Put David Price in a with live opponent instead of a string of barely warm bodies and you would get people talking about him Frank.FtmPress wrote:You have forgot David Price and tony jeffries these are 2 to watch in 2011
He is a good fighter and should be mixing it with a decent level of opposition from here on in.

he was on the plane & had the tracksuit, he failed to make the weight remember??
tony jeffries has good power & a very strong lad. but his defence is very poor i dont see him getting much past the domestic scene just my opinion. he should be very happy with a lonsdale as would most.

Re: the olympians
is he in the US full time? i could see the benefit if he was going over there on a short term basis to pick up different training methods but why is it neccessary to go there permanently at this stage?Arnie wrote:No he wont Frank. i saw a thing on sky & he was staying in a smart looking hotel while out there.he did comment it was costing him a fortune
jeffries want's to do well & is taking desperate measure's & i feel want's result's & a quick return. america is a good school to go to & learn. steve collins done it, but he would of had a job & be struggling. going to the gym hungry & tired needing to become somebody & pay the rent aswell as keep his tart :!:
jaffa seem's abit delboy like & turns his attentions fast looking for other routes. i just get the feeling he may fall out of love with pro boxing & become a millionaire elsewhere
