Michael Sweeney signs with Dolphil Promotions
Dolphil Promotions are proud to announce the signing of Mayo prospect Michael 'The Storm' Sweeney. The talented cruiserweight enters the Dolphil stable with a record of 9 wins 1 draw and a solitary defeat. The 27 year old is hoping to re-launch himself following a nasty achilles injury which has hampered his progress in the last few months. The experienced Irishman who has plied his trade in both Mexico and in Boston while also stopping by Austria where he was sparring partner for the Klitschko brothers. As far as experience and talent is concerned promoter Don O'Leary is delighted with this coup "With Michael we have signed a fantastic young boxer right in his prime. He has a good head on his shoulders and knows exactly what he wants. He has seen just how far boxers who have trained under Phil Sutcliffe can go in their careers, so together I believe Dolphil Promotions and Michael Sweeney can go all the way."

Good idea, self management hasn't worked very well for Sweeney. Hopefully this can help to push his career in the right direction.

Hopefully Sweeney will have a big year, he is willing to figth anyone, anywhere. I just noticed the Mexican opponent he lost too recently won and defended the Mexican Cruiserweight title with the defense coming against Julio Cesar Gonzalez.
