Frank, I'm drinking my morning coffee at the moment.
Last night I had a great Reuben sandwich that Monica brought me from Art's Deli.
I know Randy understands good pastrami sandwiches and I wanted to ask if he ever tried a Reuben made as Monica had mine made last night.
It's a typical "huge" deli Reuben with Pastrami, Rye and Russian dressing, however, instead of saurkraut, cole slaw is substituted on the sandwich.
I like the saurkraut, but this is just as good, just different.
I took a photo of the sandwich and I'll post it later.
This is about my only contribution to the "Food Network" part of this thread. I must depend on the "Work of Art".

Regis Philbin, Gary Shandling and OJ's White Bronco . . .

It was 1994 and I was working as a lighting designer for "The Larry Sanders Show" on HBO.
One of the guest stars on this particular episode was TV host, Regis Philbin (who is a great guy).
Each department on the show had it's own room on Stage 10 of the CBS Studio Center where we filmed the series.
In the set lighting room, we had a TV set-up near the dimmer board, and our dimmer op would watch TV as he worked.
This was a couple days after the Nicole Simpson murder, and the dimmer op told us over our set radios that O.J. was involved in the infamous "White Bronco" freeway chase. At one time or another, most of us on the set converged upon the lighting room to follow the coverage of the chase. Toward the end of the chase, as O.J.'s Bronco made it's way thru Brentwood to the football legend's home, I'm in the lighting room along with Shandling and Regis. Gary Shandling is shaking his head and seemed upset, so Regis says to Gary, "You are really upset over this, why?"
Shandling admitted, "I live right down the street from O.J. and this is going to tie up traffic in the neighborhood for hours. I hope I don't have trouble getting to my house?"

Oh well, typical.

Rick, you took the words right out of my mouth. Remy, the words "Women" and "Normal" should never be used in the same sentence. I think it seven years bad luck or something like that.

Rick, no, I have never had a Reuben sandwich with Cole Slaw but it sounds like it might work. I'll give it a try next time I order a Reuben.

Randy, Brian, Rick, thank you guys. Seen the doc today, she says that I have bronchitis, gave me some meds and told me to stay indoors and in bed over the weekend and to go see her on Monday, how ever; I'm going to try to go to Don's party on Sunday....

I hate shopping......

I hate shopping with a passion. I should have known better but today I volunteered to go shopping with Jeri. She had money that I had given her for Christmas as well as several gift cards. We went to the Whittwood Town Center here in Whittier. It used to be a regular covered mall but it was remodeled a few years ago into what is commonly being referred to now as Town Centers. I don't like them so much, especially in bad weather. Plus, at the Whittwood there is no bookstore. A bookstore is the only saving grace of any shopping mall as far as I'm concerned.

After 15 minutes I begin to sag. My arms are hanging at my sides and my knees begin to buckle. I feel as if I am traversing the Sahara Desert, after running a marathon. I wonder off hoping to find something that well catch my interest but there is nothing. The malls, the town centers and the big department stores are all designed for women. In any department store, at least two levels are devoted to women. Somewhere in the store will be a quarter section for men and boys, sometimes a little more but for the most part women rule. Women love to shop and the stores know this.

Most men know what they want when they go into a store. I want a pair of Levi''s, I go straight to the Levi section find my size and leave. Underwear and teeshirts? same thing. It's simple really. Even when returning a small item to the store a woman can take several hours due to self mandated window shopping. I always believe her when she says"It'll just take a few minutes". I never learn.
