Songs You Instantly Identify With Boxing...
I posted this thread in Other Sports & jotted out a bunch of tunes synonymous for me with our (un)fair sport. Couldn't be bothered writing them a second time, but which songs & musical pieces for you are instantly associable with Boxing?

Fight The Good Fight- Triumph
We requested from a radio station after I spent a couple minutes convincing the DJ that I wasn't lying about Buster Douglas knocking out Tyson. The premise can be applied anyway, but that accentuates it for me.

Should've used, "Black & Blue" for his exit song...BarryWashington wrote:"Black & Yellow" by Wiz Khalifa. Why? It's the entrance song Paul Williams came out to in his second fight with Sergio Gabriel Martinez.

For some reason, I think of boxing sometimes when I listen to one of my all-time favorites, Howlin' Wolf, singing
"Smokestack Lightnin'."

When Livingstone Bramble had a training camp set up in Whitefish, MT, it was a song he always started his warm up with.

...buzz...maybe if you learned to play body and soul and stella by starlight and other legitimate songs you'd start getting real gigs again instead of those crappy new year's eve parties you have to play because all of the good groups are already booked...

Shipping up to Boston - Dropkick Murphys
used by: John Duddy, Andy Lee (sometimes), few other American based Irish boxers.
O Fortuna - Carmina Burana
used by Bernard Dunne while also using Irish Rover when walking to the ring.
Irish Rover - The Dubliners
Practically every Irish boxer or boxer who claims Irish heritage has walked out to this song.

The Final Countdown by Europe. It was used in all the build up and TV previews for Hagler v Leonard. I cant even stand listening to it as Hagler was my all time hero and I was almost suicidal when he lost!
