sonny bill
Re: sonny bill
Believe it or not it is on Main Event's schedule. Jamie Pittman is fighting TBA on the same card, nothing else so far, not even the duration of the Pittman fight.
Very strange.

Re: sonny bill
A wily old veteran, that TBA.
Re: sonny bill
You would expect him to have a better record, wouldn't you?dberry wrote:A wily old veteran, that TBA.
Re: sonny bill
Thats what I was saying earlier on in the thread...and check out the price, $39.95. A fking joke !!
Re: sonny bill
Another total waste of time and money PPV bout has been added to this rip-off Boxa promotion, where Danief Baff has been lined up with easybeat: Kashir Mumtaz, who has lost 12 of his last 13 fights.
Ernest Hemmingway was quoted how he felt about his story: The Old Man and the Sea being filmed in a tank with a rubber shark: "No picture with a fvcking rubber shark ever made a dime" said Hemmingway!
One hopes this Boxa bilk never makes a dime!

Re: sonny bill
Hey guys just a quick one and in no way am i defending boxa promotions or this card as i think charging money for this is a joke. I would however like to defend kashif as u say his record is not great but look at who he has fought. The bloke has not had an easy fight yet and has troubled some of our best. He has gone distance with les made porky look terrible and fought our best up and comers. Here is a guy that wont duck a fight gives his best and takes these fights on nearly no notice. The casey fight he took on two weeks notice and was suffering the flu terribly. He helps our promoters put on shows and showcase there fighters. I am not alone in thinkin this as having spoken to trainers of the boys he fights they all have alot of time for him. Dont blame kashif for these matches blame the people he fights and the promoters for not matching local boys and fightin him on short notice.
Re: sonny bill
stus is right about kashi, top bloke, baff has been tryin to get an easy win on tv for a long time, but he wont want to take kashif to lightly

Re: sonny bill
i agree, mumtaz can be a tough customer and more often than not manages to hang in there giving it his all till the end.stus wrote:Hey guys just a quick one and in no way am i defending boxa promotions or this card as i think charging money for this is a joke. Re: sonny bill
Thanks for the support guys i was waiting to be shot down seein as though im new to the forum. Good to see some people that have an idea what they talking about. Been readin this forum for years and got sick of the crap and arguements on here so thought i might throw out a new point of view. Cheers guys
Re: sonny bill
I actually seen the first Baff and Mumtaz fight, in no way was Baff winning that fight before the ref stopped it because Mumtaz had a bruised eye, and I'll add that he was landing at will against baff. Defiantly worth seeing if Baff has improved.

Re: sonny bill
Why does that suprise you the fight was in Aussie
Also interesting to note Baff has only had 2 fights since his fight with Kashie whereas Kashie has had what 20+ off the top of my head!!!
I'll be in the corner of Kashie come fight night should be a decent scrap!

Were you in his corner last month when he decided to stop fighting Casey after four rounds? What the hell happened there? Was he hurt?N2 Shape wrote:Why does that suprise you the fight was in Aussie![]()

Re: sonny bill
i cornered kashi that fight as a favour for promoter. it was the first time i had cornered kashif.
he was not hurt as such but as i stated earlier he was suffering badly from the flu and could hardly breath. from end of the first round he was really struggling and was actually sick in the corner twice.
kashi asked me to stop it after three, i asked him for one more hard round and then id take a look at him. the bloke just couldnt breath. i didnt want him getting hurt and he just couldnt go on.
he was very apologetic and asked for a rematch with some notice when he was fit, but was knocked back.
i wish him well against baff as he is a lovely guy and alot harder than people give him credit for

I love Sonny when playing Rugby but he's got stink stiff boxing and his opponents look like 30yr olds that learnt boxing last night, hell I'd fight SBW.

Re: sonny bill
A decent card for a Fox program, but to fork out any hard earned for a "Main Event" is a nonsence.
Re: sonny bill
TBA has a big night in front of him.
Re: sonny bill
It's not a PPV and i hope the SBW thing gets stopped here......... com'n Lewis.
Maybe this is an eliminator to fight Alex
.
Pittman vs Kanofski, i really don't know what to make of this fight, I know who will win but I'm curious as to why both parties would want it.

Re: sonny bill
They both need a decent win to put them on track at even the domestic level. Decent fight but Pittman should have too much...
Re: sonny bill
15 days to go and TBA is still booked for 4 fights. Maybe poor old TBA will have to go up against multiple opponents similar to that shown recently on SBS about the last remaining boxing tent troupe.
Someone said earlier that this is not PPV. Well it is still advertised as such on Main Event.
At one time Billy Dib was pencilled in and has been replaced by the similarly sounding Bilal Dibb who is fronting up to TBA.
