So how many amateur boxers have contacted John Ruger? To effectuate any change, it needs to be quite a few.

The problem is that in amateur boxing there are only a few hundred boxers who might believe that this could effect them. There are about a few hundred who realistically could fall into the final 80 at the Olympic Trials and many of those don't even know about the situation. Most of the thousands of other boxers could care less about the situation as it won't effect them.

It really will be up to coaches and officials to let boxers know that this could have an impact on them. Maybe not now, but in the future. Think about the 2016, 2020 & 2024 Olympics too.

Providing the WSB is still around then....... 8) Doesn't seem to be overly popular in the U.S. - LA Matadors were giving away tickets to their next show at the Silver Glove Regionals this weekend.

Mel - it is going to take awhile for the WSB to catch on. I don't know if they have the funding to keep it above water long enough to succeed. Pro boxing (which WSB is) isn't super popular in the U.S. and bad club shows have turned away a lot of fans. Many fans will like the WSB if they tune in. Once they watch it, they will want to keep watching it. It will just take time. I will keep watching it on TV. If they had a team in Detroit or Chicago, I would go to some matches. If I lived within 300 miles of a franchise, I would go to a match.
