Boxing - it's own worst enemy

Post by Bennyblanco »

This whole haye klitscko merry go round is really getting tedious, the greed of both teams is getting beyond a joke :witzend: how can they not just agree a date and 50-50 and get it on?

With the farce that was haye v Harrison, haye v klitscko and the whole mayweather pacquaio rubbish is it any wonder boxing is in the state is in?

It seems like froch is the only one out there not hand picking his opponents and letting pound signs rule his boxing career.

He chose to enter it and some other fighters that entered it have pulled out.

He wants to fight the best though, he could of quite easily of quit the super six after the Kessler fight, just like the other drop outs.

It's set to get worse Benny. Like you say, the number of boxers out there having meaningful fights is a joke.

Get prepared to have the Chisora fight to be wrapped up as £15 PPV with a shed load of Africans and Argentine journeymen coming in to fall over against the rest of the stable before they switch 'live to Germany'.

yep boxing used to be about the best getting in the ring with the best. Now its about tv contracts and getting the longest, least risky career , whilst maximising your earnings. Does anyone want the glory these days?

PBF is the worst of the bunch, why come out of retirement if you're not going to fight pac. Greed thats all!

Boxing is mostly about PPV and that's what's ruined Haye vs Klitschko along with many other things in boxing. Boxing fans can't complain as it's their own fault though. If everyone boycotted boxing PPVs none of this mess would have happened. It’s gotten to the point now where half decent domestic line ups are PPV. Then we get a bunch of journeymen from Uganda against our “hot prospects” to pack out the undercard to make it look PPV worthy.

Why should David Haye be in any rush for this fight when he can fight some bum and make a fortune from PPV anyway? Same goes with Amir Khan. How many crappy PPVs has he been on?
