Huge test in the Quartety comeback.

Post by stujones »

Cracking little crossroads undercard fight on the Tarver vs Johson II bill, which is now only just over 2 weeks away.

Ike Quartey is facing former two time Light Middleweight champion (and still a damn good fighter) Verno Phillips as the chief support.

This one could be a cracker, I know Phillips isn't a natural Middle, but if Quartey wins this one - he moves right up there as a geniune middleweight contentor.

Shame its not on UK TV.

Looking forward to this one Stu.

Will be fascinating to see how Quarty does. It will tell us a lot.

Still pissed off with Quartey for standing off Oscar De La Hoya years ago when he might have put the pressure on. He had Oscar down and hurt early on, but then just sort of looked at him for the rest of the fight. Strange.

Yes an Oscar even admitted he was hurt. Interestingly when he was being interviewed by Merchant after the Mosley screwjob merchant asked him if he had ever been hurt in the fight and DLH said, "No Never, I've never really been hurt... well maybe when Quartey dropped me but... no never!"
