I've tried to get together a picture of what went on from a variety of sources.
Just to clear up the 'Sky cleared the date' issue on another thread, from what I understand Booth means Sky cleared the July 2nd date and Haye's lot wanted to go straight to that; Boente also says that date would be agreed but that Sky wouldn't agree 30th April.

I don't get it either. Why would he have a problem with Klit fighting prior to the Haye fight? There are a lot of conflicting reports at the minute though.

Your possibly right Gomez, Vitali could come into the equation now.
Wlad is not going to fight Chisora then fight Haye 8/9 weeks later, Haye's very right to be fuming as i agree he's being taken for a ride here. It would totally balls up the promotion, and seeing as this is a mega event, its just not on.
Wlad's bottling it, or he's decided with his bro to let him have the first pop at Haye. But why?
Haye says he is done with the Klitschkos even though he originally agreed to a July 2 date and Wlad and Boente say a July 2 fight is still going to happen. Is Haye so pissed off because Wlad is also staying active and fighting Chisora? Why would you be done with someone just because they want a tuneup? If they have agreed to all other terms, as Haye says they have, it seems like everything should be set. So for Haye to say he is done with them seems odd.
Why does he care so much that Wlad is fighting a few months before? Because he is afraid Wlad will lose or get injured? Even then, at least leave yourself open to the very realistic possibility that Wlad emerges healthy and ready to go for July 2.
If SKY seriously prevented this fight from happening so as to accommodate a Khan PPV then they are mad. Unless it was Khan-Mayweather, it wouldn't even get close in buy rates to Haye-Klit which wold break records here in the UK. Hell, they could have used the money from Haye-Klit and put Khan on normal SKY sports!

It would be nice to hear from Adam Smith on this
Disagree. If they had both PPVs in a month the overall buy rate would suffer. Better to defer allow the fight to be milked for all it's worth.
Plus you'd over saturate the media with both fighters plugging their respective bouts.

You are probably right re overall buy rate in April but I have no doubt that it would be the Khan fight that people would save their money on, not the Haye fight. If Haye ends up fighting someone like Chagaev instead and the Klit fight doesn't happen then SKY will be the ones to lose out overall as I don't think the buy rates will be that great for either ppv.
This is Haye's fault for wasting time. He should have just taken the 50-50 befrorehand and could have fought him instead of Audley but he was thinking about his pension pot
Sounds like a lot of smoke and daggers to me, but it also sounds like Klitschko's are a right pain in the arse to negotiate with! Not considering coming to England, want to be first on posters, second in ring, proper mard-arse stuff!
A lot of modern day "fighters" (if they deserve such a label) make me want to throw up.
In 1942 over a period of four and a half MONTHS Charley Burley had the following contests:
25th May 1942 Ezzard Charles LPTS 10
23rd June 1942 Holman Williams WPTS 10
29th June 1942 Ezzard Charles LPTS 10
14th August 1942 Holman Williams WKO 9
16th October 1942 Holman Williams LPTS 15
Williams, Charles and Burley were real fighters.
Haye and Klitschko's finger pointing is an embarrassment. Either fight, or just shut up and retire.

Agreed. People are writing it off because of a gap of 9 weeks! Man up and take both fights. Shows how much money there making when they fight 3 times in 2 years
Sky have often had PPV's in quick succession, so I don't buy that one. Only need to look at the Harrison vs Haye fight being quickly followed by the Khan PPV.
