I have to disagree with that comment Don Cockell was a very good Light-Heavyweight who was forced to fight at Heavyweight due to a glandular problem that meant he cound not shift the weight off like he could in his younger days. I'm not saying he was great but he was a good fighter and definately NOT a bum.

He showed great heart in his fight against Marciano and soaked up a lot of punishment before being battered to defeat in the 9th.

'Bums' don't last 9 hard rounds with Rocky Marciano.
No way was Cockell a bum, he scored some decent wins in order to get the shot at Rocky. It should also be remembered that Marciano fouled Don unmercifully throughout the fight and would have been disqualified anywhere else but wasn't even warned by the 'ref' that night!.

Marciano may well have been thrown out of the ring that night or at least had of few points deducted if that fight had taken place in the UK with a British referee.

i dont think anyone can possibly doubt the rock as aat least a top 10 heavyweight great, personally i rate him at 2 or three (behind Ali and maybe Mike Tyson) it would be great to see him fight aginst the two, or even against people like Liston and FRazier
