When is Dominic Vea out next?

Post by oliverfennell »

Just watched what some people are calling fight of the year, and not just in Oz - Dominic Vea v Oscar Siale. Very, very hard fight. Short in skill, perhaps, but that was what contributed to the drama. Anyway, Vea made a fan of me. He obviously needed a good rest after that, but does anyone know of his plans?

Speaking of needing a good rest, I looked up Siale's record and couldn't believe he fought less than three weeks later! :o HOW?? His left eye looked like someone had inserted half a grapefruit under the skin.

Siale is a tough SOB, he went 11-1 before starting a squence of TOUGH fights demonstrated below....

31-01-2010 VS Vaitele Soi LMD6 (Soi is a heavy handed prospect who was 9-0 at the time)
31-03-2010 VS Jameson Bostic LUD6 (Bostic is a World Ranked Light-Heavyweight who was 19-4)
04-06-2010 VS Junior Lakapo WUD4 (easy win over Lakapo)
17-06-2010 VS Moyoyo Mensah LUD12 (WBO Africa Title fight against the game Mensah 20-8-1)
01-07-2010 VS Dominic Vea LMD12 (Commonwealth title fight we all know about this WAR)
21-07-2010 VS Brad Pitt LKO3 (3 weeks later he fights Pitt......amatuer Star and puncher!)
08-10-2010 VS Daniel Ammann LUD10 (Ammann is no puncher but asnother tough fight for Siale)
25-11-2010 VS Danny Price WMD4 (Good win for Siale one he was probably expected to loose)
12-12-2010 VS Pieter Cronje LKO2 (what was he doing in with a heavyweight??)

Talk about a TOUGH year at the office!!!

I had a chance to speak to siale after the price fight in cambelltown.I was trying to tell him and his missus was agreeing, that he should try and not take fights on such short notice, and too close to each other ,that he didn't look out of place in the cruserweight devision and was definately up there with a chance. With the right management he could take himself to a decent level. His reply was his age, that he didn't have time to mess about, which showed in his next fight against cronje.I personally think it's a shame he's selling himself short, but what can you do,it's his team thats guiding the way.And I hope to see dommy vea travel to england with the commonwealth title and make a dint! :TU:

Oh well...can write a book about the overcooked fighters from NZ but yeah he is arguably the toughest fighter in NZ at the moment.

I'll go along with you N2 shape. Cronje is too big for Siale to fight.

i like that idea better than danny v shane. much better match up. maybe a main undercard to a danny fight in april would be a good idea....

He'd be a hit there, I'm sure. He'd have run through Norton on that form (Norton was supposed to defend against Vea before relinquishing the belt and opening the door for Siale).

Imagine if Vea had come along five years earlier and matched up with Carl Thompson. The violence that would generate doesn't bear thinking about...

Should Vea fight in the UK, the best fan's fight would be vs Ovill McKenzie (get his fight with Tony Bellew and you'll see why), but it doesn't have enough box office pull, which is a real shame.

And while all plaudits for Siale are well deserved, what of my original question? Anyone know Vea's plans?

fight with cameron is definatley on the menu....pending Vea's nose and medical clearence im assuming...

IMO Cameron is not agile enough and saying that Vea's precision and power will be very overwhelming for cameron to overcome.

This would be an absolute cracker :TU:

Vea - KO Rd 9 (He'd be hungry to avenge his mishap with Green!!)

If it's a PPV in Newzealanad like someone suggested earlier i might actually buy it, I'm really worried that it's been about 4-5 months since theres been a fight there.

In another country it will be a better fight, here in Australia Vea stops Cameron.

I would have thought Cameron would be favourite heading in to a fight with Vea?

I don't dispute that he'll be the favorite given the hype, but that's all he'll be. Vea hits hard, i don't think Camerons jaw likes that. It will be interseting while it lasts around 7 rounds IMO.
