goodbye Michalczewski

Post by Old bones Ian »

Former WBO, WBA and IBF light heavyweight champion, also WBO crusier champ Dariusz Michalczewski has annouced his retirement, not surprising really as his last fight was a 6th round loss to Fabrice Tiozzo.
He retires with a record of 48 wins in 50 fights, and he well deserves to enjoy
his time now.

has some excellent names on his record, but probaly will be remembered more for him and Roy Jones Jnr not getting it on. He would have stood a chance against RJJ as well.

He might of stood a chance against the shell that now is Jones but i doubt against the real Roy. Anyway happy retirement Dariusz, look forward to your return next year :TU:

Can't see him coming back, i think he knows he just doesn't have it any more, Fabrice Tiozzo although a good fighter wouldn't have beaten a prime Dariusz.

The odd thing is Tiozzo is as much a veteran as Dariusz but seems to be having an Indian summer to his career.

Joe Calzaghe should have got in there a few years ago when Dariusz was still unbeaten and there was still talk of Jones v Michalzcewski. Dariusz was showing signs of being beatable for quite a while before Gonzalez came along. It would have been a good career move on Joe's part.
