I would love to see a rematch, could go either way. I would hope Bomber would learn from the first fight and win more easily and convincingly. Definitely a fight that I'd like to see as a fan.

Ovill says "the best thing you can do for your career is to give me a rematch because the gods honest truth you dont win that fight".

But surely if that is the truth then that would be the worst thing that Tony could do for his career.

Ovill is out of order for giving Tony a bum-steer on his career advice in my opinion!

Makes you wonder why he didn't become an English teacher instead of a boxer.

McKenzie got stopped didn't he? pretty conclusive in my book.

This is the same McKenzie who turned the fight down earlier oin the year too.

The Bellew train has moved on and he missed it!

Lets be fair, the last thing the stoppage was was "conclusive" - scandalous would probably more accurate, and I am a Bellew fan!

No disrespect to a fine professional, but I'd hardly say that Stubbs is a move up from McKenzie. I think most fans would love to see Tony fight Ovill again.

SPOT-ON!! The ref looked like he panicked when he stopped it. Hardly a 'conclusive' outcome when Tony was dropped heavily. The feeling remains that if Ovill had upped the workrate and pressurised after the second knockdown, the ref may have been forced to stop things in Ovill's favour.

Rubbish post. Am with others, the stoppage was extremely premature and a rematch should be given. Isn't 'boxingchat' a monicker for FW promotions? If so not surprised at their post. Loads of 'conclusive' stoppages on every FW card isn't there!!!

A rematch would be fun, though it's proof that Tony either needs to go to Cruiser or concede he'll never be a top level fighter as a pro.

Is the fight against Stubbs going to be for the British title?

The stoppage was poor, no two ways about it.

it was a early stoppage but lets be fair mkenzie wouldnt have lasted the round a rematch would be good but id rather see bellew moving on towards a british shot

another thing after the heavey knockdown in the second why didnt mckenzie go after bellew it ok mckenzie he would beat bellew he had the chance and blew it sounds like sour grapes to me

Who's to say he might not have had a wild swing and got lucky with a bingo punch and put Bellew back on his bum? You never know, a fighter can be at their most dangerous when hurt and the other man is coming in trying to finish it. If only the ref had let us see what would have happened, none of this debate would have even come about.

Definitely a good fight for a rematch whether you think the stoppage was good or bad. It was a well matched fight and McKenzie gave Bellew all the problems he needs at this stage of his career.

I felt his control gradually got more as he got his confidence back from the knockdowns but it was always fairly tenuous, there was always the chance that Mckenzie would land another big one and end it.

It's simple, he knocks me down and then doesn't come near me TWICE cos he sees that I'm recovered quickly and throwing punches at him and it's just as simple to see me knock him down but then jump on him and he throws nothing back, in my view had he done what I done after my knockdowns the ref would have let it carry on!! That's my view on it, as for a rematch, British title involved I'll do it all day long!! ;)

To be honest I think Bellew won the fight fair and square and I'd rather see him move on to a higher level. The proposed fights with McIntosh and Cleverly would be fantastic.
