I think he should stay around the level of fighters he is fighting and sharpen his tools for the next few fights. Defence work I'm sure is the current priority!

Fcuk the rematch, McKenzie blew it and doesnt deserve another shot, shit stoppage or not

I think I have bettter things to do then watch a fighter just shimmy round the ring with his arms by his side throwing the occasional punch. I dont know whether he was dancing or fighting but I didn't enjoy it

98% of peeps would prefer to see the McKenzie rematch. Stubbs is decent, but it's not as exciting as Bomber/McKenzie II, especially when that rematch is fully justifiable. And Bomber, before you say it, I know you would fight him, no problem, but surely you can push the idea of a rematch onto that gobshite of a manager.

Unless you see ABSOLUTELY no need for a rematch?

No offence to you, Bomber. I have no problemo with you, apart from some of your attire when being interviewed on Sky. Like Frankie Boyle once said, you looked like a monkey that had been kicked through Top Man.

Eh that attire is just like me skin.. ;)

As for me manager, no one can complain what he's done with me, I've faced 2 fighters who no one else wanted to face, let's remember Mckenzie is a prizefighter winner and I had no reason to face him but I did.. I feel I have been managed perfectly, I couldn't have asked for better start to my career, if anything I feel I owe my team a big thank you IMHO

He's a top promotor and will always get oppotunities for his fighters, but he does rub boxing fans up the wrong way, what with all the ambiguity, double standards and just pure nonsense that seems to spill out everytime he opens his mouth.

FW is what he is, but if I was a boxer I know I'd choose him as he gets his boxers the best opportunities for exposure.

Does Frankie use anything once anymore? I think I heard that line used on a member of the audience at the 3 shows I saw him live and on his DVD.

As for a rematch, I'd rather see it than the Stubbs fight but I have no doubt Tony would win again.

It will certainly be interesting to see if his current crop stick with him or move on once they reach a higher level ala Naz, Calzaghe, Hatton and Khan etc.

So you have Darren Stubbs in a tasty unifaction match for the British and Commonwealth straps, how is training going for you at the moment and who do you want next should beat Stubbs. The winner of Danny McIntosh v Thierry Karl for the European belt or Nathan Cleverly.

I for one thought the stoppage was well out of order and way too soon, that said Ovill had his chances FFS and did not take them, he should have jumped on Bellew in the 2nd round and really applied the pressure, he did not do this and paid the price. The record books will always say Bellew won so move on, I don't blame Tony for not fighting him again, why should he? Been there did that so to say and way too risky for a well managed fighter with a big future (if he learns from the many mistakes that has been shown of late) Move on to bigger and better thing I say unless you find yourself being avoided again by other fighters (which I think will stop after your last 2 fights, many fighters will want a go now which for you is a good thing, keeps the money coming in and you busy)

All the best

please tony give me a rematch to revive my career is more like it.

ovil is a very strong physically a good liver with a dig...but he's one paced & cant fight when pushed back, he was badly gassing & the commentry could see & noted how he had sagged.why should the ref take a chance?? ovil was getting licked & bellew was marching him down jason myers style which people have forgotten.

my boi aint looking at what bitches are behind him & also ovil turnt bellew down & only stepped to the plate after the ajisafe fight because it gave him confidence.

challenger's dont get return's .

Hey Tony this is just my own personal opinion and im just a fan not a boxing expert or anything, anyway what i was gonna say is i think you need to focus on boxing more, you seem to focused on blowing your opponents out of the ring and whilst thats exciting, etc if you're going to get to the higher levels you have to be smarter than that. Also another thing is you seem abit plodding in the ring, there doesnt seem to be much bounce in your step when you're boxing,i dont know if thats something that can be improved or not but just my own observation and no offense intended! :TU:

You have some very valid points lefty although the plodding thing was really just that fight, I have moved well when needed, footwork is one of my ok points, defence and loading up is where I'll be looking to make adjustments...

Like I keep saying had Ovill did what I did when I got up he would have nothing to complain about now but he didn't!! He threw no punches and took 1 without even a hint of throwing one back, while I respect the guy I don't agree with what he's saying, to be honest it seems to me that he forgot that no one wanted to face him but I did!! He shows me no respect!! He got a shot at a title cos I said so!! That should be respected if anything!!

I am just gonna concentrate on the future and if that includes Ovill then so be it, if not I'll not lose any sleep, why should I?? I BEAT HIM... I'll leave my career in the hands of the good people who have done great for me so far.. ;)

As for what's next, Clev is doing his thing and I am on domestic radars right now, Karl or McIntosh, yes but first I have to come through Feb 19th and that's all I'm thinking about right now mate ;)

Tony, domestically there really is no better fight out there for you right now than a rematch with McKenzie, since that first fight was such an attention grabber for many of the right reasons and some of the not so right.

On the plus side you rebounded from two KD's one of which was a real heavy and yet you got up and continued to stick with the programme. You showed the power and heart of a champion and the fight was an edge of seater which had folk talking. It was a deserving profile booster.

On the negative side, the stoppage was early and it seemed McKenzie wasn't given the chance you'd been given earlier. Now you very well might have gone onto close the show in more decisive fashion, but Ovil deserved the chance to fight is way back as you'd been given.

While its true you got the win and may feel you'd be going back over old ground, there is definitely a feeling of unfinished business there and i think most fans/critics would agree with that line of thought. A return would certainly have folk excited and tuning in to watch. We pretty much know we're guaranteed big punching excitement from both of you, and its a great chance for you to show improvement or McKenzie to gain revenge.

A rematch with McKenzie is a fight which would grab attention. And at this early stage in your career when you're obviously looking to build both reputation and fanbase, that can only be a good thing.

The McKenzie rematch is clearly what most fans would like to see. Sure, a fight with McIntosh for the British would be ideal, but Danny has an important date himself, so with him tied up i'm sure most would much prefer to see a rematch with Ovill. A great opportunity to prove how much Bellew learned from that fight. Cleverly is head and shoulders above anyone else in Britain for the foreseable future.

Cheers tony for not getting annoyed with my criticisms, ive never seen you react in a negative way to peoples opinions of you on here and thats something I and everyone else on this forum admires!Cheers for replying anyway mate :TU: p.s the plodding thing maybe again be related to you loading up aswell and trying to blitz people as you'd be setting yourself for the power.
