Book Poll

Post by Lorn »

Ok, in light of what Desserter has said about being able to sell a book I ahve decided to put a poll together to gauge public opinion on whether they would buy a book on his life.

Sorry to take the board over guys, but reserach is seemingly important.

I would buy the book - however unfortunately there are very few people outside of boxing who know who Howard Rainey is.

Not insulting just the truth.

I know Howard and know he has got some stories that would make peoples hair curl - however what has he done that others havnt??

I wouldn't know who Howard was if I hadn't read "Looking for a fight" by David Matthews. But since I have, I would definitely buy Howard's book. I'm sure he's got some very interesting stories to tell about the game. :TU:

If it was called "The Howard Rainey Story" it doesnt sell but if it is marketed and titled in a way that plays on his eccentric side this makes both press and public take interest and if done well it would have a chance.

Eccentric ? eccentric ? what makes you say that ??!!! :OhYes: lmfao

He has done more than most love he just doesnt bleat about it.

I cant see that anyone else has their own invention being backed by one of the countries top uni's with a student they have employed to do a 3 year PHD on either.

Just a thought

Lorn,

There is no need to be patronising with your first line.

I admire Howard greatly - I think he has been a fantastic servant to British Boxing - however I will be bold enough to state I do not think his exploits are more worthy of a book than say many many other trainers and managers of the sport who have also served it so well.
