To be fair to Joe he is not Macklins manager, he is his trainer. Joe does not call the shots and maybe he is one of the rare bread of trainers who don't actually try and be managers as well.

You can't blame Joe for Macklin of for the Barker situation. Besides, Maklin hasnt pulled out of the Barker fight yet has he. As far as I know no date has been given to him.

For me the problem is the all-too-close relationship between Freddie Roach and Golden Boy as it is his is the gym Macklin hangs around in.

Macklin is his own man, always has been.
