Apparently Matthew Hatton v Saul Alvarez will be announced very shortly.

How do you guys see this one going?

Hatton has improved a lot over the last year or so and is no walkover but I just can't see him coping with Alvarez's power or skills and can see him getting stopped quite easily. Kudos to Hatton for taking the fight but I think he is a lamb to the slaughter here.

I like Alvarez, he's old school and learning his trade. Makes a lot of mistakes for someone with so many pro fights though. Think he will wear down Hatton and beat him unfortunately.

Hatton has no chance , he is brave if he takes the fight and fortune can favour the brave but i like Alvarez when ive seen him so far , he is far too good for hatton , but this is boxing , it only takes one punch

If Alvarez is as good as folk are saying then he's knocking Hatton out early. Maybe 1 or 2 rounds. If would be freakishly like Pacquiao/Hatton, IMO, but it'll be Matthew's misses screeching this time.

I don't know why everyone is saying Mathew will be Ko'd so early. Alvarez is probably my favourite prospect; but Hatton JnR has fought at a decent level and is very tough.

Saul will most likelybe too much, but I see a stoppage in the latter third of the fight. Hatton is experienced and tough.

It's incredible really that Alvarez is only 20 years old and has had over 30 fights. Be interesting to see how the bookies price this.

I think Matt is getting a bit of a bum rap his boxing brain is pretty good and he knows enough to stay out of trouble for a good period of the fight while giving some back of his own.

A nice fight to get his face shown on the world scene

Hatton is a great choice of opponent for Alvarez at this stage. He is tough, canny and has seen most of what there is to see in a boxing ring. Having boxed in the US plenty he won't be fazed by the "occasion". He is genuine European champ having won the title and defended it decisively. He may not be the greatest but he will be a test for Alvarez and while Canelo may have had 30 odd fights, he is still only 20.

I think Hatton can take harder punches then he gets credit for and has become a far better boxer than he used to be.

Avarez is no doubt a top talent and can hit some great combo's but he is easy to hit and he failed to take N'dou out last time, even though that is a tough challenge.

Overall Alvarez is the guy who will go the furthest no doubt about it but if Hatton boxes and escapes some early round scares I think he could take it down to the judges where I will suspect the judges giving it to the 'home' fighter anyway. If Hatton gets caught too often too early then I can't see it going past 6.

I think Alverez is a cut above Hatton, he will be able to back him up with the jab and get off with combinations not letting Matthew get set with his own jab, I see Hatton giving it a go but being outclassed losing widely on points.

This is the kind of fight Brook should be looking to take if he wants to prove himself.

Alvarez is a different level to Matthew Hatton, simple as.

Hatton has no real power to speak of, but has good conditioning and is a tough lad.

However, Alvarez should work him over and finish him Baldomir style

Alvarez is something special and extremely marketable in the States and Mexico with his distinctive appearance and exciting style. If Matthew could come through that fight with credit then that would go a long way to climbing out of the shadow of his brother.

I don't see Alvarez as something special myself, but I think he has too much for Hatton.

When I mean special I sort of am meaning a once in a generation type of fighter - he aint that.

If Alvarez is as good as everyone says I hope Hatton gets a) credit for fighting him and b) due applause he pulls it off.

I suspect on here he'll be called a numpty for taking it instead o easier fights and/or Alvarez will be discarded as a novice if Hatton pulls it off.

I'm not sure Alvarez is that good yet, but he's still young and is being handled pretty well so far IMO. Struggled a bit too much with Cotto for my liking, is a bit too open defensively, and seems to have the Mexican pride thing where they can't take a backward step. Wouldn't be surprised to see Hatton have some success in losing.

Alvarez isn't top draw. I would liken him to Chavez Jnr, but he'll have far to much for Hatton. Ko within 5.

Credit to Matthew Hatton if he does indeed take this - and it's a good move too.

Nice payday no doubt plus if he loses (which i think he will inside 5, a la Jennings v Cotto) he's still got his Euro belt to fall back on.
