Tony Jeffries vs Michael Banbula REMATCH
Tony Jeffries vs Michael Banbula REMATCH
I seen on tony's twitter that he was looking forward to a re-match with banbula after in a local interview banbula called him out for a re-match.. judging be some of his twitter posts tony really wants this fight to prove everyone wrong.. in my opinion under his new coach jaffa would box his ears off
This time they will have to get the rounds right!!!!

Jaffa will school him all day!!
Re: Tony Jeffries vs Michael Banbula REMATCH
This may be true but while are people so convinced Tony has improved vastly under Brooks - we haven't seen much of him since the switch. Therefore, not sure where the certainty comes from.
Re: Tony Jeffries vs Michael Banbula REMATCH
He may well improve under Brooks, but if he does it will take time.If Brooks can get him to European title level it would be a massive achievementdbflex wrote:This may be true but while are people so convinced Tony has improved vastly under Brooks - we haven't seen much of him since the switch. He does not even have to improve to beat Banbula, just get back to his old self and not box below par.Knowing the number of rounds and being prepared for them would help, too.

Umm, why? Hardly Hagler-Leonard II.
Jeffries hasn't impressed at all but good luck to him, at least he's admitted as much and is trying to make changes.

I just think Tony has got the skills to comfortably beat Banbula when his head is right. It was obvious he was out of sorts last time quite early on,his attitude was terrible.Scottrf wrote:Umm, why? Hardly Hagler-Leonard II.

He should beat boxers like Banbula all day long,he has failed to impress me since he turned over..Maybe a change of trainers is what he needed!!Adam1991 wrote:I seen on tony's twitter that he was looking forward to a re-match with banbula after in a local interview banbula called him out for a re-match.. judging be some of his twitter posts tony really wants this fight to prove everyone wrong.. in my opinion under his new coach jaffa would box his ears off

Jaffa did post on here for a bit,but spat his dummy out with the negative responses about his below par performances...

With his head right and fully focused, I'd expect Jeffries to win a rematch comfortably.

"I thought it was 6 rounds, not 8."
I still don't buy that, and even if I did, I believe I had it level after 6, or Jaffa behind. In fact I had him losing the fight. If Jaffa doesn't get a win in the rematch then that's horrific. I just hope it was a bad night for him, and he's much better than that. But the guy isn't going anywhere far, that I'm certain of.

Watch his reaction at the end of the 6th (about 24:00). He definitely thought it was over after 6.

Is the rematch 100% on.... if so, how many rounds.
Now this is a rematch that appeals to me most out of the 3 being mentioned here recently (this, Bellew vs McIntosh, and Watson vs Rees).
I hope its a 10 round affair.

Re: Tony Jeffries vs Michael Banbula REMATCH
Banbula will give him a tough fight again but Jeffries will surely win this one, he is a good fighter but he is yet to win me over maybe this fight he could change that in this fight, good fight for this stage in his career
Re: Tony Jeffries vs Michael Banbula REMATCH
no disrespect to jaffa but i dont see him as a fighter that skools people but he is extremely strong & powerfull.i dont think you can blame rimmer & say this new coach has made miracles.i think it was a case of jaffa going up to his proper weight after keeping his body down to long trying to make 12st were he could get in touching distance but was clearly draining himself.if jaffa is revitilised he will bust banbula up & will back him up with ease but if there is a weakness after 5rds he could get exposed again id like to see him do the buisness & make a statement but that cut worry's me.

I've said it before but I like to see fighters avenage defeats. There is something deeply satisfying about it in my opinion.
Jeffries-Banbula, and then who is to say we wont see Khan-Prescott in Manchester! Well probably Shah Khan, thats who.

Re: Tony Jeffries vs Michael Banbula REMATCH
It was outstanding to see Phil Jefferies last night - what a proper gent!!!
My goal is to convert him and have him walk his son to the ring wearing a black and white shirt.
On a serious note it seems at last Jaffa has buckled down to some serious training and he is concentrating on boxing and rather than than get pulled from pillar to post doing "openings" and things for charity he is doing what a boxer has to do if he really wants to reach the top and that is be a little selfish (and you have to be!!!) by concentrating solely on proving is worth in the professional ranks.
As much as I slated Jaffa in the early days and I stand by some of those comments - I hope he makes it.
