I can understand Macklin wanting to take a bigger 'name' fight but I would much prefer to see him in with Barker. For my money both Wright and Barker beat Macklin. Would a loss to Winky be less damaging than a loss to Barker? I'm not so sure.

No but a win with Wright will generate more interest than a win with Barker...

Would it really generate that much interest in America though? Will they be clamouring to see Macklin for beating Wright? Don't see it myself.

I don't know about 'clamouring' but it gets his name out there doesn't it? Better than a fight with Barker would!

That's true. It just irritates me that after all the talk and the promise of an excellent fight with Barker we get this. Golden Boy constantly recycle old fighters and in this instance it's costing a great matchup.
