Won't believe it until I see the two in the ring. The Khan's are very tight with the cash as Alexander and McCloskey found out.

Another fighter stepping up in weight. The Kell Brook fight makes more sense than this.

This fight should have happened a year or 2 ago

I think this fight attracts more attention than the McCloskey one, great for the North West!!!

Already the criticisms are coming in.

Thus far, the names mentioned for Khan's UK return have been Judah, Peterson, McCloskey and now Murray - each match has been criticised.

Khan cannot win.

Thats because all the murray fans who thought murray was potentially world class a couple of years ago and kept saying khan was ducking him, have now realised that khan outclasses him (and always has) so dont want the fight.

Murrays either world class or he isnt?

I dunno i'd rather see Murray stay at lightweight. A fight wi Mitchell would be a great way to see who moves on to the next level. A fight with Khan can always happen in the future (maybe) but dont get me wrong i think it'd be a great fight.

I'd love it to happen but I now think Khan will have a bit too much for him,

I think Khan has improved massively under Freddie Roach - and in addition I think John Murray's come forward style will suit Khan down to a tee.

Agreed...

It's only a few months ago people were clamouring for this and accusing Khan of avoiding the guy, and now the excuses are rolling in again. Some people here just have a pop at Khan whatever he does....it's getting boring now.

This one, if at the MEN, would be one to avoid IMO - local lad Vs Khan and his fans = nasty atmosphere spilling over into trouble.

Dont understand why people think a come forward style suits can, he's only just demonstrated that he finds it difficult to cope with a fast, aggressive pressure fighter. Its technical fighters such as Kotelnik that Khan dominates.

I have been saying this on Hatton-Khan threads for a while.Security would have to be beefed up at the M.E.N an awful lot. They are useless outside of the ringside area.Murray's fans already keyed Khan's car and that was when he was just commentating!Add a few thousand Hatton fans taken in by the build up and the Khan army and it could prove very volatile.

i agree i top level pressure fighter will give khan trouble , it would be very hard for anyone to outbox Khan

always just assume that a presure fighter walks into khans punches withouth doing anything

Ah I hope not mate. I might have to get myself down for this one - the fight itself should be an absolute belter due to the clash of styles. Murray is never in a bad fight. If there is at least one decent undercard fight I'm there.

its not a match-up i care much for ...

Murray is a lightweight ... who hasn't exactly proved much there to be honest.
McCloskey would be a worthier opponent of the two.

This kind of thing doesn't help my enthusiasm for the sport any ..

I hope this comes off.

Headline says they are set, first par they are on the verge, by second par it is down to considering, then we are down to possibility by the quotes.
