Arreola then? Not great, but more worthy and interesting than Mormeck, surely.

This just makes all that "explanation" on the Victoria Derbyshire show the other week look like rubbish: he quite clearly stated that if it wasn't Klitschko then it had to be Chagaev!

:shame:

I really, really want to believe David Haye but it's getting harder and harder to justify some of the arguments. He should have just accepted the July 2nd fight with Wlad and let Wlad fight Chisora first. Put a back-up plan into place with 2 heavies scheduled to fight on the undercard with an agreement that if Klit pulls out for any notice, one of them will immediately get the title shot instead.

Bloody Mormeck?

(sorry, Arreola is a poor "other choice" in my opinion too).

We had a poll on the live show earlier today as to whether the fans thought Haye - Mormeck II was something they wanted to see.... it ended up at about 25-1 against the fight!!! Not a fight I would like to see either! As said earlier what happened to cleaning up the division!

They are genuinely looking at this fight. It's not a wind-up.

The proof of this, was when someone I know went to Booth at the Vegas during check-in and said "Adam, what's all this talk about Haye fightin Audley ??"

Booth categorically said that "there is absolutely NO WAY that David will fight Audley Harrison. I absolutely assure you. Trust me."

It was less than 2 weeks after that conversation that they officially unveiled the Haye vs Harrision fight with a press conference.

Have you seen the WBA top 15? there is not one easy saleable fight there.

7 Dimitrenko
8 Mormeck
9 Meehan
10 Adamek
11 Helenius
12 Ibragimov
13 Bakhtov

It's getting boring now, Chagaev or Adamek are the only decent options.

Anything else is the end of Haye. Even if he gets some klit by the end of the year it'll be so long since he's had a decent scrap he'll forget how to!

:-? That's a shame it sounds nasty I read he has bone and joint problems. His weight must be a massive strain on his joints.

bennie wrote:Why all the hate? Chagaev is a walking virus so Booth has to look at the rankings and Mormeck is right in the mix, a man who dropped Haye. Sure, you get the feeling that Booth wants to give the French bull a nice payday because Mormeck really 'made' Haye, but Mormeck is still a million times better than Arreola, who wouldn't even beat Martin Brogan.
Can't they inoculate guys who fight a guy who has hepatitis? They did with Wlad when he fought him or does the BBBC have different rules to the German commision?

Haye might as well flush what is left of his reputation down the toilet by fighting RJJ or Tarver.

I can't see his handlers risking it but why not give Boytsov a call? Unbeaten, young and relatively exciting. Haye would switch him off too.

Putting on my promoter's hat, you could "sell" the following:

Chagaev - mandatory contender
Ustinov - another "David vs Goliath"
Rahman - the man who beat Lennox
Valuev - unfinished business after close/controversial first fight
Adamek - all-action fighter independently considered the top contender
Arreola - marketable if Haye fought him in the US/puncher's chance

Being serious, but I think Holyfield is more worthy of a shot. What has Mormeck done at Heavyweight. He looked done at Cruiserweight 3 years ago. Going on reports Mormeck was very very lucky to win his last fight.

El Telioni.

You're right of course, but if we're going for quantity over quality, couldn't Haye have just fought 4 times a year and dusted off the whole top 10.....if anyone can put one together. I hear Oxy Moron is #6.

Haye fighting four times in one year, are you off your effing nut? This ain't 2005. Are you trying to drive the poor lad towards the brink of exhaustion. Sound post, sound suggestion, but you've gone away from here and become some kind of hippy. Only mind bending drugs can explain the suggestion that a heavyweight champion fights x 4 in a year and against his main contenders. It is a mad, mad notion. Shame on you.
I do apologise, its my thyroids.

Enzo Macc should move up to heavy, blame his mutiple KO losses on weight-making, even though he's a tiny crusier, beat Julious Long, call out Haye - he'll probably get a go too, then blame his dramatic KO loss on making a "mistake". You peeps may well laugh, but Haye's heavyweight career isn't the best so far.

It does seem a little odd, even by WBA standards, that they should have as their mandatory challenger a fighter who, correctly or incorrectly, is viewed as such a health risk that many commissions won't sanction him. Was it Switzerland or Monte Carlo or something that blew out Chagaev-Valuev at the last minute due to the former's hepatitis problems? Now Britain seems to be against him fighting here because of the Hep B. Yet Germany were happy enough for him to come and fight Wlad. Under these strange circumstances, it would be pretty unfair of the WBA to strip Haye for not fighting a mandatory contender who is treated like he has the plague.

Would have its plus points, for sure — introduce him to the Klitschko market, build those fights (if they're ever going to happen), maybe put a bit of pressure on the brothers to get the fights made.

But what sort of crowd would Haye draw compared to the fight taking place in Britain? How much extra would it cost Sky to do an outside broadcast from Germany? How much would it affect the PPV buy if Haye wasn't on hand in Britain for press duties in the immediate run up to the fight?

Seems to me the main arguments against the fight taking place in Germany are financial. Depends how much Haye wants to hang onto his belt, I suppose.
