PRIZEFIGHTER - WHAT HAPPENS IF?

Post by GlobalBox »

Playing devils advocate here, what happens if a fighter is cut from an accidental clash of heads in any of the fights and cannot continue, by the new rules that fight is a technical draw, I assume being prizefighter they then go to the score cards at the time of the stoppage, now thats all well and good but if it happens at the end of the second round and the fighter cannot come out for the third round we could have the following scenario.

Therefore the first two rounds are scored only

one judge has 20-18 for fighter A
the other two judges have it 19-19 - 1 round apiece

Fight is still a draw, do we then toss a coin for who goes through, bearing in mind that if the cut fighter goes through he ain't going to fight as doc has already stopped the fight, we could have the scenario where a reserve comes in.

Hearn is a shrewd guy so I assume they have the above possibilities have been covered but would be interesting to know what it is.

Or you could put Jose Suliman in charge of scoring.

Here is a seminar on the WBC guide to scoring...

I know what you mean David but its a fair possibility something like this happens the fights are often all to play for going into the third and final round, just wondered what they would do.

Good video clips though

I may be wrong but I think in the event of a draw on the scorecards, it goes to the referees score card.
Although I dont know what would happen in the scenario that you mentioned with it being stopped on cuts and also a draw on the cards

If the fight is stopped due to a cut and the fighter can not continue then the fighter withdraws from the tournament and the opponent goes through via default. If it went to the cards and the cut opponent was ahead on the cards and wins then he withdraws after the fight and the reserve takes his place in the next round

What happens if the scenario happens in the final - is the 32,000 decided on a flick of a coin? Is it a draw? I thought there was no draw scenerio's - cause they've said there would be extra rouinds in draws.

If the fighter can't continue then he'd effectively withdraw as he couldn't continue in the fight meaning his opponent takes the win and the money. All eventualities will be in the contract
