Who would you rather see khan fight next?
Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
Given that everyone else decent is tied up and Golden Boy wouldn't put Ortiz and Khan in together...Lamont Peterson.
Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
but if you want to watch khan fight someone from a diffrent weight class or fight a has been, then i understand why you think bradley is the best.Captain Hook wrote:Bradley is the best at the weight and would easily be Khan's toughest test, but before him I'd like to him box Murray or Judah.
To say Bradley is untested in any way is bollocks. His resume since beating Witter is very impressive.
Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
Personally I'd like to see a Prescott rematch, then the Bradley-Alexander winner. I don't know why he isn't an option. People can say he's done nothing since he beat Khan, but he still beat him. That makes it an intriguing match-up, one that will sell well and should be a chance for Khan to shine and erase his only loss. And Prescott's still dangerous. As long as there's a half decent undercard it's a no brainer.
Otherwise, I guess I'd like to see Katsidis fight again. I'd say most of us UK boxing fans have got a soft spot for the guy.

You think McCloskey is better than Bradley? Give me a break pal...
Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
McCloskey - Yes, I'd like to see it happen. Paul is half-decent and Euro champ. It's going to be fun, but Khan wins, probably on points.
Brook - Brook is a welter and doesn't deserve a shot. Perhaps it could be made in future, but not now.
Murray - The time has passes. Khan is a massive light welter, Muzza is a lightweight.
Katsidis - The Kat is my favourite fighter, but he's too small. Khan will overwhelm him.
Bradley - Him and Alexander and fighting, so it won't be them, but hopefully the winner will fight Khan.
Alexander - Dits.
Other - Marquez maybe?
Therefore, I'd probably prefer McCloskey. As long as Khan's team pay him enough.

Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
I want to see Khan face all 6, but if I had to choose an opponent from the list it'd be Murray as long as it's followed up (if he wins) with a fight against the winner of Bradley-Alexander

He needs a fight before the unification fight with the Alexander/Bradley winner. In the meantime I'd like to see him in with McCloskey

It certainly helps when your opinion is based on something though.jessi wrote:khan is improving rapidly with every fight, it nearly could of been over early against maidana but they showed heart as much as each other, i still believe bradley and alexandas heart and chin are untested, and as far as McCloskey goes, sometimes you just get an instinct, my opinion doesnt have to be based on anything, just like i know frankie gavin will go all the way too. like i said before, time will prove my point !crusader wrote:You believe they would both get stopped in 5 rounds or less. To me, it doesn't sound like you think they have a chance to win. If Malignaggi, Kotelnik, and Maidana could get into the late rounds, I don't see why either guy couldn't get past 5 with Khan. Everytime I have Bradley/Alexander fight, they have shown me far more ability than McCloskey has and they have been doing that against world class opponents. McCloskey hasn't even moved past Euro level, so it's hard for me to see what you're basing your opinion on. He even looked poor against Lauri, who is nowhere near world class.jessi wrote: in my opinion they are over rated fighters, i think Amir Khan or Paul McCloskey would beat the pair of them ! someone said earlier "not only do i think they would go past 5 rounds but i think they would have a chance to win too" for god sake there world champions of course they should have a chance to win, i havent once said there bad boxers i have just said in my opinion they are over rated, i think McCloskey is number 9 in the division and i honestly feel he would beat both of them !

The gladiator of course,it's a certainty that khan would be in a great fight with katsidas, can't say the same for the other names on the list.

Plus Bradley's not from a different weight class, and he's very very far from a "has been".Captain Hook wrote:Have you seen Bradley fight?jessi wrote:but if you want to watch khan fight someone from a diffrent weight class or fight a has been, then i understand why you think bradley is the best.Captain Hook wrote:Bradley is the best at the weight and would easily be Khan's toughest test, but before him I'd like to him box Murray or Judah.

Jessi, obviously you're a McCloskey fan and for that reason you hope he gets the fight, and that's completely understandable, but don't try to apply logic that simply doesn't exist! Just say you want to see the fight for your own reasons, nobody will mind that.

Amen to that...
I admire Bradley since becoming champ, seems to want to fight the best and if Alexander and Khan are added to his CV in 2011 he deserves nothing but praise

Katsidis or Marquez - but as its domestic bill, likely go for McCloskey to help fill seats on the cheap.
Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
oliverfennell, i think you need to read previous posts a little more carefully before you come jumping straight in, when i used the words "has been" i was refering to zab judah and not bradley, and when i used the sentence "fighting someone from a diffrent weight class" i was refering to john murray and not bradley. And both refrences where made in a post to captain hook !
But yes you are right in one thing and thats that i would like to see khan v mcCloskey next, although bradley maybe the number 1 in the division the original question was "who would you rather see Khan fight next ? then on some returning posts i stated that i thought bradley and alexandra in my eyes are over rated, like i also said in posts following this one was that they had not fought elite boxers, i never said they were bad and i never said mcCloskey had fought great fighters either, but i also mentioned it was pointless having the number 1 and 2 from the division in the list as it wasent going to be them fighting Khan in april. so out of the rest of the list and considering khans fighting in the uk, Paul McCloskey gets my vote shortly followed by Katsidis.
I also mentioned that nobody else in the list would take Khan past 5 rounds, i put this down to his rapid improvement, his already brilliance, his blistering hand speed and accuracy, and i still maintain my opinion.

Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
err... but you make no mention of his power, which tends to be the main requirement for actually stopping people. Whatever improvements Khan has displayed recently, there's been nothing to suggest to date that he's capable of stopping the likes of Bradley.jessi wrote:I also mentioned that nobody else in the list would take Khan past 5 rounds, i put this down to his rapid improvement, his already brilliance, his blistering hand speed and accuracy, and i still maintain my opinion.
Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
John Murray or Brandon Rios.
Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
Floyd Mayweather - As King Khan (as he likes to call himself) now thinks he's the faster boxer out there, and thinks he's some elite boxer all of a sudden, by beating the great Malignaggi, and surviving against Maidana. I would love to see Mayweather brutally take Khan to school and silence that gob of his.
Realistically though, Katsidis is the most exciting fighter out there in this division, and if he can catch up with Khan, who will fight most of it on the back foot, then i'm up for it.

Yeah I mean he thinks he's some kind of elite boxer all of a sudden by like becoming world champion after winning an Olympic silver medal and in his last fight taking on the guy - the big power puncher we all clamoured for - and coming through it with a victory..
...and now he's targeting the best in the division (Bradley/Alexander) when they've faced off.
Give me a break mate, Mayweather's too busy with court cases.
Khan's on the right track. A dust-up with McCloskey or Murray and the winner of Bradley/Alexander before the autumn would be good going, and what most of us would like to see.

Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
Yes I agree he is on the right track. But is he as great as he thinks he is. NO all i'm saying is he needs to box realistiacally who's out there for him. Not keep coming out with nonsense like he'll be too quick for Mayweather etc, when we all know Mayweather who is an elite boxer would destroy him.Captain Hook wrote:Yeah I mean he thinks he's some kind of elite boxer all of a sudden by like becoming world champion after winning an Olympic silver medal and in his last fight taking on the guy - the big power puncher we all clamoured for - and coming through it with a victory..

Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
I've never heard him say that, and if he has he's deluded...I agree on that.
But bar Pac and Mayweather I feel he has the tools to beat anyone around that weight.
Bradley will be a stern test, it's a 50/50 fight for me should he get past Alexander. That's what he should be concentrating on long-term.
There's the small matter of April 16 too...

In terms of skill and ability I'd have him in the top 10; it's his CV that lets him down.

Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
Well, he's been proven right on half of that so far, and I believe should he ever meet Pacman he'd dominate him over 12 rounds.
He's super-talented, shame he's such a prick.
Mayweather should be a worldwide phenomenon, boxing's Michael Jordan or David Beckham, but he could walk down the road in most cities and nobody would bat an eyelid (if he kept his gob shut for five minutes). It's his own fault, that's what damages his legacy - his personality and bad attitude.

Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
Mayweather can back it up though with his record. Khan can't.
The thing is lot's of Boxers make these statements as tongue in cheek comments, and have the ability to be funny with it.
Unfortunately Khan isn't one of these.

Re: Who would you rather see khan fight next?
Khan's CV will be as good as Mayweather's by the time he retires.
There may be a loss or two on it, but if he sticks with Roach and fights for another 5/6 years he'll be up there.
He's still young.
